I can't see ASI bringing much news. Gone are the days where it was the big one for drivers being announced and cars unveiled there.
I can't say I blame teams and drivers for shifting away from that way of doing that though. If you're making your big announcements, you want it to be the talking point of the media/fans day rather than being swept up in a wave of others doing the same thing. Yesterday for example, the big talking point has been DeLeon and WSR, which is obviously spilling over into today too. Last week it was Restart being talked about it.
I think that's the way it should be.

I'd expect just the usual driver interviews that you can sometimes glean the odd bit of info from. But besides that I don't expect too much.

Not really sure who ASI is really for anymore. F1 it appears there's only going to be Ollie Bearman there and other series seem to have a token presence. Much better for teams to do announcements at their own pace

Not quite. Turks’ deal isn’t done yet. It is likely but not a done deal yet.

That would be an off season shock if Turks isn't back!

Was there not internet talk earlier in the year of him hanging up his helmet after this year, to focus on his son(s) racing?

There is every year! I think Lewis did the Fiesta (?) junior scholarship this winter, so I guess he’ll probably be properly circuit racing next year if he wasn’t already, becoming more of a commitment and cost.

And his main sponsor is a Mr Pete Osborne, interestingly.

Good move I think for him and the team! I have no idea who will be in that final seat tho.

I think the longer it goes on the less likely it will be Zelos. I wouldn't be surprised if it was someone else from Minis that brings a bit of cash.

I would say Thompson would be a good one but I think I he’s set his eyes on Trying to get back in a BMW

Sounds like Bobby is still looking for sponsors so must have something in the offing. The 4th Excler8 car would be a fantastic move for him , not sure if Matt Neal and TD are still working behind the scenes with him.

With the first three cars filled by experience and Halstead moving on it would be great in the final seat had a younger charger who also qualifies for the JST . Zelos has that foot in the door and it’s likely that time will be given for funds to be raised unless another obvious candidate steps in . Should Moffat now turn up at WSR that will leave the seats at Toyota and the lesser teams and Thompson could fit in some of them if his efforts prove sufficient budget wise .

Interesting with Morgan.
I did hear a rumour that Pearson leaving during the season and Halstead not returning has something to do with the budget they brought to the team not being used as specified in the contracts - or as a friend said 'the team spent money meant for them on Ingrams title challenge.'

Personally, not sure how true that could be, I mean, where can extra money be spent on BTCC to gain an advantage. Is it just one of those mad rumours, or am I missing something? Is there anything more than the general running costs that could be spent more on one car than another?

They’ll need to put some of that budget on all the front bumpers Morgan’s going to get through

There’s still a lot to shake out and it’s very early days . If Huff and Pearson take the two TGR seats then it’s open season for the rest of the. Expecting Cook Sumpton and Halstead to remain on grid with different teams . Possible returns being sort for Hamilton Patterson and Thompson budget permitting and the great mystery surrounding one motorsport who I don’t suppose filed an entry just for the heck of it. With the number of interested parties could WSR fill 5 seats and if so where would they obtain the TBL (speedworks ?) Watson could go to GTs unless MB keeps him on grid elsewhere . Restart looking for driver with both pace and budget . Already a lot to anticipate bar any new shocks .

Unless they can get an extra TBL Bobby might be out of luck at WSR, as expecting Moffat in one car & Turks in the other.

One car for MB for Jake as confirmed, Moffat in a differently named entry like Bobby was for his brief ‘Zeus’ backed weekend & Turks & Deleon in the Team BMW cars most likely.

Lifing consumable parts, instead of fresh elements.

in all fairness if Adam Morgan couldn't afford another season at WSR the Thompson definitely won't either. WSR needed Morgan's chassis and he came as part of the deal, he wouldn't have been in there otherwise. The WSR seat is the 2nd priciest on the grid behind Alliance.

Probably needs to settle outstanding with WSR before pitching up anywhere in BTCC….

Not really sure Alliance has a price. All the drivers are there on contract ?
