How about Eddie Jordan's extraordinary fortune in that "race"? I bet he couldn't believe his luck when the failure of Fisi's OnStar handed Frenzy back his starting position on the grid and led to those points!

The Luck of the Irish was in for him. Too bad it didn't do Eddie Irvine any good ...

As an Irish person myself, I was glad to see Jordan do so well...i hope to see them on the podium sometime this season. Not too sure about Irvine though, could be a while b4 we see anything from him again. In his first race he drove under the Irish flag, but after that it was deliberated by the FIA due to the objection of some people here in the north that he would have to fly under the british flag. I don't think Irvine, thankfully, cares what flag he drives under.
I will await the day when we see a Jordan driver at the top of the Podium...that day will come.

Sorry, Liz, I saw this thread only after I had posted a new one about the same subject. I've been a bit back and forth here.

So Fisi had a technical problem after all. That's good in one way. I mean, a driver of his caliber should be able to find the correct grid position, don't you think?

Frentzen deserved to get a result in this race after his tough luck in Australia where he could have been on the podium if Rubens hadn't hit him.

As for Eddie Irvine, well, after the way he's acted lately, who cares?

Ireland is definetly a supurb place for a GP. Look at the culture, it's full of it. I think a lot of people would far rather come to Ireland for a GP than England as we could, I think, put on a far better show.
People would argue that there would not be enough funding but that is not true: digifone (who currently sponser Jordan), Guinness (heh), gateway!
Actually a friend and i were talking about Irish Sponsership once, and the thought occured to us, if you've ever seen a Gateway Computer box you will notice it is Cow Spotted. Can you imagine what a car would be like if it was sponsered by Gateway?? Anywho thats irrelavent, the fact there should be an Irish GP!
