Clearly no mention if LH was driving or not. I tend to think that tunnels are particularly dangerous when it is raining. Water is tracked into the tunnel and the tunnels don't have normal weather that can wash away any accumulation of oil on the road surface. So add in a layer of water and they can be very slick and catch you out.

Ahh.. I re-read the article and saw that. In my first scan, I wasn't sure if it meant he had sold the car he crashed in Monaco and this was a new car of his, or what? But it is apparently the same car and as you say he is no longer the owner.

so followed the imbedded link about that accident LH did have while he owned this car...that article states the car's value at £1.6m.

the value of the car stated in the more recently posted article pegs it's current value at £8.5m.

sizable increase in value in several years...basically the car went nearly 1m a year or the other way to look at it, it went up because of the previous owner was the GOAT!?!

Well - the previous owner did accumulate 6x WDCs whilst he owned the car.....

Ha! The BBC article had a quote saying "It was chucking it down with rain when the car went through the tunnel". Based upon the video, I have a very different definition as to that amount of rain. Looks more like the driver ran into an unexpected lack of talent in the tunnel!

All in all, a pretty good demonstration that the ability to write a cheque for a valuable car does absolutely nothing to confer the talent necessary to make the most of the car's potential.Not sure that the dashcam footage will be a useful thing to have circulating in the event of an insurance claim........

The crash video reminds me of the driver who was demonstrating an Arrows formula one car at Brands Hatch last weekend. He floored the throttle on the pit straight and did exactly what this driver did and ricocheted between the two walls.
