It was alright. Productive enough day for me. As far as news goes, there wasn't much.

The 'for sale' International Motorsport Falcon was there sporting a shiney new refuelling system - I assume it's the mule to get the system sorted before they all get it. M3, Team4, iSport, Edgell, Booth and Tasman were there. The iSport car is sporting new Gloria Jeans Coffee paint-work. Jonny Reid was the guy testing the Team4 car (in the absence of Evans - not sure where he was), although there's no confirmation as of yet of Reid and Evans pairing up.

There was a little bit of category marketing on the day. Rawden Christie from Breakfast, some lads from Crowd Goes Wild, and some dudes from Wintec were there soaking it up.

Nice pics? Dunno about nice - I did take a few though

My full set's up here: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?...1&notif_t=like

But a few more of mine will be on the V8 SuperTourer Facebook page.

This article here in speedcafe outlines the new fuelling system, which looks great and similar to a V8SC.

It also outlines Jonny Reids test day as well...

http://www.speedcafe.co.nz/2013/08/1...-hampton-test/

So does this mean that we will see re-fuelling similar to a Supercar?

Also, the article talks about the development of a softer compound Hankook tyre....great move IMO

Good to hear that Slade is comfortable in the M3 machine

Negatory. The re-fuelling will be done with nascar-style gas-cans. Cheaper, with more entertainment and nostalgia value.

Those boogity boogity NASCAR churns are quite large, about the same volume (or maybe even slightly bigger) that an office water cooler (note to all teams, DO NOT mix up your water coolers with the fuel churns, unless you like drinking petrol of course, or your car can run on water).

Soooo, one imagines that the car pits, jacks go up, drivers yank at each other to swap seats, a tyre or two may get changed, all the while some dude will thrust the churn male end into the double orifice female receptacle on the car (I did see a movie along those lines some time back come to think of it, but anyway I digress). Fuel goes in as per some sort of fuel volume counter (one would think?) and the car gets dropped and off ya go.....hopefully not in a sea of flames.

Does that sound like a fair representation of what we might see?

The ones we used on the Group A cars at the likes of the Wellington street race meetings and subsequently during the South Island Endurance Series were of 40 litre capacity. The Breather bottle was 12 litres

You measure the amount of fuel you want into the churn/s rather than measure what comes out. Its all about planning then training to the plan.

http://www.nascar.com/en_us/sprint-c.../pit-stop.html

The final member is the gas man, who empties two 12-gallon cans of fuel into the tank. Each can weighs more than 80 pounds

the "boogity boogity" gets the mute button treatment when watching NASCAR. so annoying!

We need to get McCarthy to adopt it now

Just to confirm - the 'nascar-style' verbage I used was my own words, not the words of who I got the info from. They will be fuel cans of some description though.

A few pages back, Mark Petch mentioned Shane would be with Jeroen Bleekemolen. He also mentioned that Van der Drift would be back with Edgell, Jonathon Webb with McLaughlin, and that Jonny Reid would be with someone (after tuesday, possibly with Evans).

Other confirmed ones are Waite with Gaunt, Tim Slade with Richard Moore, Jack Perkins with Murphy, Chaz Mostert with Ant Pederson, John Penny with Manuell, and probably a couple of others I've missed.

They should go for dan jilesen in my view. Yes he stacked the car at a puke test day, but they are mates and Dan is a very talented driver.
Onza I know that you must now who svg is going to partner with.....wink wink

With respect, now that Paul Ceprnich is running SVG the car is reliable and very quick, so given that Jeroen is already signed to drive with SVG in Australia, I am willing to wager he will also be driving with SVG in the NZ Enduro rounds.
