Well the BMW will be there anyway, thats all that matters, the old car ran in G2 in 2004 and it still finished quite strongly. Although I have to agree with Tim the Grey, the question of its legality between FIA and ACO is doing my head in.

The VLN has classes for FIA GT3 and SRO GT4 cars, but not for GT2.

But normally a GT2 would go into one of the SP classes (SP7 for the F430 and the 997RSR). The M3 was in E1-XP mainly because of the transaxle setup.

Maybe that has something to do with the FIA favouring Italian cars...

Have you got a link to the FIA document about the weight decrease in GT2?

This should be a good race meeting with FIA GT1, British F3 and the 24 hour.

Not sure how the weekends race programming will work out?

I am intending to attend the event but at the moment they do not have an English language website for information.

Last year there was some pretty good deals with something called Club 24 which gave some sort of hospitality offer.

Anyone know whats happening this year.

Ditto for ticketnet.be.

However, it always feels like a cheap deal, even on the gate, compared to the UK!

Found this on Spa 24hrs facebook page. So this basically confirms Vitaphone/AF Corse team up? Nice looking poster but.

Nice looking poster indeed.

Not sure about the Vitaphone/AF Corse connection but it has been mentioned frequently on here.
The official website has been changed since the last time I was there and there's a news bit in French:
http://www.racb.com/24h-spa/fr/news_...fm?id_news=819

- Confirmation that Schnitzer BMW in the GT National category; no drivers confirmed yet

- Mark Blundell will drive an Audi R8 LMS from Zac Brown's United Autosports team

- Eric van de Poele is in negotiations with AF Corse to drive a Ferrari

- Prospeed will take 2 GT2 Porsches (911 GT3 RSR) and a GT3 Porsche (911 GT3 R)

- Marc VDS will bring their beautiful Ford Mustangs

GT2 weight loss document

Keep yours eyes on this page, the entry list will likely appear on that page first as well.

Also there is a document about Aston Martin getting 60kg off their minimum weight for the GT2 Vantage, made prior to the cancelation of the full GT2 season.

Would be interesting to know if that 60kg off the base weight of the Vantage GT2 still stands.

Well Aston Martin put in the request in February, but the FIA approved the request in March, a week after the FIA GT2 Championship had been canceled, so I presume the decision still stands.

looks like excellent news about the Vitaphone/AF Corse entry and the more good news about entries such as the Mustangs the better. Skipping LM for this one this year so hope they keep coming.

Just out of interest, the others all look plausible, just wondering who the Gulf liveried Aston GT3 is supposed to represent? Is this an entry in the Belgian national series that I've missed or something? Or just something mocked up to look enticing on the poster (and working!)?

I'm guessing one of FIA GTs live channels will broadcast this race I hope?

Endurance-Info has some more tidbits:

"On y voit six GT Ã* la lutte avec une Ferrari F430 GT2 AF Corse/Vitaphone Racing et une BMW M3 GT2. Suivent ensuite une Audi R8 LMS, une Aston Martin DBRS9 ainsi qu'une Ford Mustang Marc VDS Racing Team et une Porsche/ProSpeed."

So only one of each car, unless my French bailed out on me.

They also have a preliminary very rough schedule: http://www.endurance-info.com/versio...ance-4543.html

Apparently (according to the FIA page), since the race will give the winner of the GT2 European Cup, the stupid Pro-Am rule will be enforced.

I don't understand the idiotic move. Why Pro-Am? Why not let it be a top class event?

I've never been to Europe but it looks like exactly those days I'll be there and will be able to go the Saturday so it's really disappointing it ha to be this year when after so many years of being a World-Class event, it's now Pro-Am

Fortuantely there is FIA GT1 World Championship tat day too
