Dams 1-2 on the grid.
Obvious question: Where did that come from?! Frijns has done well and overall the top order should make an interesting race. |

Frijns has won the race... Wonder if any of the Carlin drivers would be penalized, specially Palmer...

Sam bird has a pen as well, for tangle with Ericsson (5 spots down the grid) and also Berthon gets a ten place grid drop for hitting (and therefore flying) Canamasas & Dillman

Surely Cecotto's jink on Canamasas which triggered carnage behind will be the final straw and he'll get a race ban for Monaco.

it'll only work if he's smart enough to do his own reflection like grosjean. if not he's going to come back and drive like a muppet again as if nothing happened. then what do you do?
if they do start actively sin binning drivers then canamasas himself will surely be next up before the end of the season? he's such a frustrating driver - he can produce great performances and then follow them up with acts of great stupidity. really pleased for frijns. if he can keep that kind of performance and pace up then f1 teams are going to be really struggling for an excuse not to take him on. good lad |

Is it a coincidence that Gutierrez has his most convincing race in F1 after Frijns reaffirms the superstar that he is in GP2? Not that Sauber realistically would drop Estaban given the amount of money he brings, but I wonder if it crossed the minds of the top brass at Sauber at all after Frijns' performances this weekend.
And Bella you're right about Canamasas - he's as much of a thug as Cecotto. When we saw the start of the replay of the Berthon incident in race 1 and saw Canamasas in the shot I was convinced hehad done something stupid again. |

Oh come on, all F1 rookies were better this weekend because they were finally on familiar ground

Looks like Cecotto has got away with it, and to be fair I didn't think he did an awful lot wrong, some aggressive defending with shot tyres but nothing out of order, certainly nothing like he did earlier in the year.

It's exactly the same as the Grosjean incident IMO. He made an overly aggressive move (jinking into Canamasas), caused chaos behind him because of it and, crucially, he showed the same aggression and unsportsmanship just two race weekends ago and hasn't learnt from it.

But it was Haryanto who was found guilty for the incident that involved Canamasas. The Indonesian will drop ten grid positions for next Montecarlo race.

That's the thing isn't it, I just don't think Cecotto did much wrong, the incident wasn't even reviewed and it wasn't as if the stewards where shy about doing that at the weekend.

Canamasas gets up alongside him and Ceccotto jinks into him to try and intimidate him. It was dirty driving pure and simple.

Good job by Frijns, clearly the most talented driver in GP2!
