Darrell Russell
NHRA driver Darrell Russell was killed yesterday, as his top-fuel dragster broke apart at 300 mph.
35 years old, survived by his wife, thankfully no children. I've just watched the video on ESPN.com, and it really puts motorsport into perspective. Often we try to ignore the danger, but it's always there, showing its ugly face when we least expect it. God bless Darrell and his family. |

ESPN pulled the telecast in Australia - possibily as a mark of respect to Darrell. While I am not interested watching a fatal accident I would have like to have watched his last meeting.
