jonathanc should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Bits falling off cars

At this weekends GP in Monza I was sitting in the stands by the last corner b4 the start finish straight (one at the end of the straight with Bridgestone Brige).

Several times cars went into the corner and what looked like carbon brake pads came off and sat on the track. The marshalls did not notice and the cars carried on.

This happened more than once and Im suprised no drivers complained about brakes afterwards.

Any ideas on what these small shoe sized objects could be?

So, at the entry to Parabolica? That's not the biggest stop of the course is it? anyway,
did you see this in the race? what cars did you notice it could have come from?

Yep, thats the one. Probably not the slowest corner, but definitely saw bits fall off. Looked like it was either Mark Gene's Williams or DC's Mclaren and possibly a Toyota or Jag.

Just suprised me to see bits fall off during the race and not affect the cars.

That's the automatic ballast jettison system which some teams employ to ensure compliance with the minimum weight regs at post-race scrutineering......
