Christian Devereux should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Paul Pochciol

Marc,

The photo I think we deserve to be posted, is the one Of Paul being a brave Racing Driver, as his Cortina gently smoulders in the backgound...brilliantly captured by your able lensman.

Paul, if you're reading, I hope the damage wasn't too bad. Spa?

Christian

Hello all - first post and a quick question.

I was looking through the results from Donington earlier and noticed that Simon Hadfield took a GP Masters class win in the infamous Amon AF101. I was wondering - how long has this car been back out racing with the Masters series?

Your site doesn't seem to work at all properly under Firefox, I am using a current version. It works fine under an ancient Internet Explorer. I thought you'd like to know.

Seen it a couple of times and it was out at Spa this weekend in the hands of its owner - Ron Maydon of Masters fame.

Ron was driving his older Matra at Donington.

It is out a lot. Ron Maydon who owns Masters owns the car. It was found in a shed in Germany if I remember correctly and Ron has owned it for a few years and races it quite a lot. He had an accident with it at Monaco this year but it is back out and indeed Simon drove it at Donington.

Chris Amon is being celebrated at the New Zealand Motor Racing Festival at Hampton Downs in January 2011 (it was Bruce McLaren in 2010) and Ron intends to take the car down for that.

I think I am right in saying there was only 1 chassis built.

That's how I remember it, too. IIRC correctly it appeared at Silverstone Classic, 2008, and I vaguely remember commentators saying it was it's first run since restoration?
But I've been wrong before!

Many thanks for the info everyone - I certainly didn't know it had been back racing for that long. Terrible in F1, but nice to see the Amon finding success now!
