I think it's good racing. I think if you want volume of entries you need regulations. Unfortunately we are no longer in the era of 40 / 50 years ago where large volumes of entries will compete in a tech driven formula, it's unaffordable.

Look at WEC, the most successful bits ie. LMP2 and GTE Pro are the most regulated. LMP1 was about to die until it became more regulated.

I think the way the GT3 cars are BoP'd help volume and is a good thing. I think the pit stop regulations are lazy, poorly designed and badly implemented in order to make it easy to write the regulations. It's lazy and hurts the show. With some effort, they could significantly improve the show without rising costs or changing anything about how the cars are regulated.

Agreed. Manthey, WRT, M-Sport , HTP and Grasser are all works teams. What benefit is there to not allowing the quality of the team as a whole to make a difference? Maybe they're afraid of a situation like 2013 where Manthey entered only this race and very nearly Manthey'd it by being the best team, thus showing up the Blancpain regulars.

I don't remember a dearth of entries for any Blancpain series before the pit stop changes, which puts paid to any thoughts of having to homogenise pit stops to keep a high number of entries.

Quantity =//= Quality. I'd rather have 40 cars with less regulations.

The racing itself is OK, it's just the lottery part we need to get rid of.
