A really nice guy and a hell of a racer. Bob'll be sorely missed.
I hate to say it, but I'm really bummed too about that GTP-ZX as well. Absolutely irreplaceable. But... There are more left... There won't be another Bob Akin.

Thats a real shame, he was a stalwart of American sportscar racing, on the level of E F-R or Hurley Haywood. A racer to the end though.

My dad is 82 and it's been a long time since he has raced, but he had great admiration for Bob that he was able at his "advanced age"
 to still put the pedal to the metal. He will be sorely missed. May he find his way to the Heavenly Grid and show them how it's done.
