I know its a while before the 2006 12 Hours of Sebring on March 18, but with all these announcements of new manufactures and teams returning to the ALMS, I got interested in thinking up of a list of possible teams that might show up for the 2006 Sebring 12 hours based off of the 2005 Sebring and PLM entry list as well as the recent news. So here it goes...

The may be some customer GT2 Astons they are avaivable now, I dont think you'll see TVR next year in any LM events..

The GT2 Aston which I think you have on your mind, the DBRS9, is a GT3 car, not GT2. Its destination is the FIA GT3 challenge, but who knows, maybe IMSA will create also for these kinds of cars a new class.

It could possibly be used as a GT2 car - the Morgan runs in the equivilent class to GT3 in British GT, but was GT2 at Le Mans.

Not the same car though. The GT3 running cars where Cup cars and the Le Mans GT2 car a completely different beast.

Totally different - The Cup (GT3) car is a modified road car (right down to the wooden dashboard!)

I think that Shorty and the Radical are going to have run at Sebring to prove to the ACO that they are worth a entry in the to the main event in June.

The most recent news on DSC suggested that a Radical would not run until Istanbul, which suggests they won't make Sebring.

HKLM GruppeM is looking for the ACO invite, i didnt think radical was going to make it on, and Risi might get a 430. there will be a 430 at le mans though.

Are you sure that Risi ever get his second MC12? Currently there are some rumours that one MC12 should be race in the JLMS next season. But that is only possible if Risi has only one car (because then one car is at Maserati in Italy). .... or one of the collectors is Kazumichi Goh?

To build a 9th race car of the MC12 Maserati need two more road cars....

I have spoken just yesterday with maserati... there where 2 Mc12 in the USA for sure, and are now sold t the Goh-AJSCC Mc12 will be a 2004 "long" car... it may become a "short" car in the next months but that's not sure

Maserati has built a total of 50 road-going Mc12 (which can't be converted in racing cars) and for next year there will be at least 1 new chassis for the Italian GT (PlayTeam Sarafree) there are rumors that another FIA-GT team could buy 1 Mc12

Thus that would mean there a minimum 9 MC12 racing version out there ? Also very interesting with the 50 road legal cars, cause all world believed there are only 25.

Do you know when the second series was build? Can´t remember that i´ve read anything about that. Hmmm..... a 2004 long car?

There are only chassis 3 (this years ALMS chassis) and 6 (sold in May to a collector). Only chassis 1 was never seen in 2005. And maybe chassis 9 and above..... ?? Now i´m confused

I thought Maserati did testing of the 2005 bodywork with the # 1 chassis, it seams very unlikely that they converted it back to 2004 bodywork after testing – if that really is the car which is purchased by Mr. Goh.

Furthermore I don’t see any sense in building a brand new chassis MC12 in 2004 spec to convert it to 2005 spec.

Beside all this chassis discussion : Most interesting for me is that Goh will run a MC12 in the JLMS. O.k., it’s his series, so he’s the boss, but I think the ACO will not be very amused about this.
