C'est pas mal but not the answer. I put the clues together. Related to Alfa Romeo. Development driver. Raced with NART cars. Same initials as a car he developed.

Nope but what a good try!
The slightest thing I could add about the initials would give you his name or barely. Not GT. I think Alfaholics can do it easy.
Another clue? I met him at Spa during the 24 Hours in '76 his stand was few steps from ours…
