What difference does it make? Aside from the all-electric running in pit lane, it's not really anything that's visible (or audible) from the outside.

I agree about all-electric cars, those will be the death of racing as we know it. But as long as a petrol or diesel engine is still involved, not much will change.

A possible downside of hybrids could be the lack of glowing brake discs, if all that kinetic energy gets recovered instead of dissipated in useless heat

The same can be said about turbocharged engines, which do something useful with the exhaust gasses instead of producing lots of noise.

We dont see glowing discs on the Audi or Pug for a long time .
