Potentially broken marshal

I'm having a minor operation on my legs on 8th July and was originally told there is a 1-2 week recovery period. Today I was told it could be up to 4 weeks, which is a bit of a pain as I've volunteered for the Silverstone Classic two and a half weeks after the op! Can anyone recommend a role that I could do that wouldn't involve standing still for long periods? Walking around shouldn't be a problem but the chance to take the weight off my legs regularly would be good. I'm really hoping it won't be an issue & I can do my usual incident role but I don't want to endanger myself or anyone else by not being able to do the job properly. I've been looking forward to this event all year so hope I can work something out.

Speak to Penny this weekend Steve, she sorted me for GP, for which I was most grateful.

Have you thought of flagging as you could sit down after each session.

Pits would work as well, you could keep walking and sit a bit between sessions.

See if you could spend the weekend in Race Control, it is certainly well worth doing, you'd learn how a race meeting works from the other side.
