The SpeCTator should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Decided to avoid the meeting completely.
"Demo's" are the favourite form of promoter padding at the moment followed by grid walks.
Whilst appropriate at lunchtime, featuring throughout the day will certainly remove the meeting from my calendar.
Monaco Historique in 2016 had a near 3 hour lunch break on Saturday filled with a few demonstration plus a lot of taxi rides for the rich and famous.
Needless to say I did not go this year.

Overall a very enjoyable weekend albeit with some organisational glitches , some which couldn't be avoided some which should have been .

Regarding the racing the Minis and Formula Fords provided six cracking races between them with Ben Mitchell claiming a double in Formula Fords ( by 0.177 and 0.147 seconds respectively ! ) . Unfortunately the second Mini Seven race was cut short after Daniel Budd somersaulted over the barrier going up Woodham Hill .

In the Motor Racing Legends races Chris Ward and Olly Bryant provided great entertainment , Ward winning the first Stirling Moss/Woodcote Trophy race and Bryant the second , in spite of Bryant suffering suspension problems in both races . Both HTC races were won by Ric Woods Capri , the first in Adam Morgan's hands and the second in the owner's .

The Guards Trophy race saw the Dodd family Ginetta defeat the Chevron hordes and in the Jochen Rindt single seater races none of the F2 or F3 cars completed both

I so wanted to be at Thruxton but as they said 70 years ago a bridge too far . Young Scott Blakney son of Pat Thruxton circuit manager drove Delta to P1 in class P2 overall so that gave me some joy . It’s still the U K fastest track and I sure hope to be able to race there again soon . Well done Thruxton and all the people that made it happen . RIP . Sod Offered . I’m sure he would be smiling

Sorry delta didn't mean to ignore Scott's fine performances , unfortunately I pressed 'Submit Reply' too soon ! Scott's performances were indeed impressive especially as he had not raced for four years . Fingers crossed the Historic Formula Ford 1600 and 2000s return to Thruxton next season .

Unfortunately there were a few whinges such as overlong Demonstrations , the Red Devils landing as Murray and Nige opened the Hospitality Centre ( not the organisers fault admittedly ) and the Fireworks display not starting until 10.45 p.m. with some of the mortars apparently exploding directly above the campsite showering those below with cardboard 'shrapnel' and gunpowder residue . An unfortunate incident but without injuries or serious damage that I am aware of .

Despite that it was an enjoyable weekend and having been at the 25 th Anniversary I look forward to going to Thruxton for many more years .

I hope the Mini driver and any marshals in that area are OK.

Although the Mini incident appeared very nasty at the time , it was cleared relatively quickly and I'm fairly sure I heard Marcus Pye say that the Mini driver was relatively okay . I'm not sure but I don't think any Marshalls were injured .

Andy Johns should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
The Mini driver drove himself home, one marshal fell over running away, and bruised his ribs. He also drove himself home after a couple of hours.
