Adrian Ryan
One of Australias best loved commentators from the past, Adrian Ryan is battling cancer at present.

Adrian is someone I remember when my dad first started taking me to the races - always had time to chat. Let's hope he manages to pull through.
On a slightly different note - is putting his personal email address here the wise thing to do? And is he aware it is being publicised like this? At a time like this whilst 'get well' messages are fine, 'swamping' him is not really the way to go... |

It will cheer him up no end ... he's always given his time freely to everyone and to know motorsport folk are in his corner is just what he needs. |

"He is away out in front like Sydney girls." Imagine saying that today. The best announcer that I have ever heard, and I have been going to races for 50 years. |

Unfortunately, Adrian yesterday passed away peacefully during the night. Will be sadly missed by his family and a helluva lot of other people. Vale

I heard about yesterday at the AROCA 6 Hour at Winton, a very sad note to the day, a real great bloke.

Sorry to read of the passing of two Aussie motor sport greats. RIP.
Can always remember Adrian tipping the white Cortina over the fence on the outside of the track at Bathurst up the top in, was it 1968? Oh how time flies. We were standing right there when he did it. |

As a matter of fact, yes. adrian called the moomba parade for many years... And did appear in that awful movie
