AA now $5.20

Yep, a price rise from $4.95 to $5.20.

According to a small mention in Robbo's Rambling it's the first price rise in 5 years.

I can remember when it cost $0.80 in the early 1980's.

Oh & for our NZ'ed cousins the price is $5.70, why not make it an even sux dullers for them

TSR has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
Besides Auto Fiction getting dearer for it's weekly dish of tripe, I noticed in the Ch10 HOME OF MOTORSPORT that they are dumping the v8superego's for next year, the channel serious boss said the v8superego's has run it day(THREE YEARS TO LATE)

So the current edtion of Auto Fiction has two annoucements one the dismise of a Fiction dribble Tv show and the second a price rise for a weekly dish of Fiction dribble.

And yes I know I do not have to buy it, but until MN goes weekly.i

Saw a Dame Edna interview once with Mark Day, then editor of The Truth newspaper. She asked him why they called it The Truth.

He answered "because if we called it Absolute Cr@p, nobody would buy it..."

AA is like a Scotsman in the midday sun.

Wonder if the extra 20c was to ensure it's delivered on time.

More cost, no more (or better) content. I buy it once or twice a year to see if it's improving and once or twice a year I'm still disappointed. A pity David AHssall and Chris Lambden ever gave it up.

perhaps the extra 20c is being donated to ten-tenths.com as a royalty for the stories printed

Interesting that Hassall and Lambden were both AA editors way back early 80s - then both were involved in the startup ofMN, Hassall left some years back but Lambden remains as publisher of the best mag around, by far. Wish they would go weekly. $5.20AA v $5.95 MN is no contest!

What a negative lot! If Auto Action stopped tomorrow, I suppose the knockers would all bag Motorsport News, and if it stopped they would find something else to complain about!
It seems that Auto Action, AVESCO, TEGA, the Channel 10 motorsport coverage, commentators, CAMS and other organisations that bring us our sport and information are hopeless. Motorsport in Australia has never been better and/or reported on. We are very fortunate indeed, and I would suggest that those that just keep on knocking for the sake of reading their comments on this forum should "get out more!".

Are you suggesting that these organisations are above criticism or feedback ?

Not at all, but the constant "bagging" is in my opinion really negative, and I do respect that people have the right to an opinion. Should we revert to the channel seven type coverage? Should we get Mike Raymond and Gary Wilkinson back instead of Diffy and Woods?
After being involved in Australian Motorsport for over 50 years, I can honestly say that we have never had media coverage as good as it is now.
Constructive criticism is a good thing, but the constant negativety toward our wonderful sport is disappointing

I do agree to a point XW, some are good, some are bad, the only problem I see on here at times is that the negatives far outweigh any positives regarding the list given by you.
Everyone is entitled to an opinion, but if those organisations (or whatever you want to call them) weren't there, no one would have anything to complain about & this part of ten-tenths would be boring.
I would like to see comments made about how to improve the current problems instead of continually bagging them & no I do not work for any of them, I get tired of negativity also & think if it is all that bad, why do people even bother coming on this forum.
There are soooooooo many things I (like many others I'm sure) would love to reply to on this forum, but I respect the rules and see it for what it is.
It is a public forum for Motorsport enthusiasts to have their say and exchange information in a civil way, which is exactly how it should be.
Just my opinions though.

More likely is that they have to pay full rent for their MN magazine where they copy the stories that dont make it to here

"I can honestly say that we have never had media coverage as good as it is now." - XW GT

We've never had so much media coverage but not all of it is good. Anyway, criticism is just a natural by-product of society. You do a job, someone does it better and someone does it better again.
It's called learning from your mistakes and some people (not mentioning media organisation or publication names) don't.
No biggie.

I wish!!

25c extra x 14,000 copies per week (audited) would make for a nice little earner
