Historic Marcoses Info wanted

Hi all
I´m putting two marcos 1600s together with the ambition to race them under historics in Sweden. Now in order to make my case as to what class they should be in I am trying to find referencees to marcoses racing in period (1967-1971) as they were never properly homolgated in period
Would love to find pics, newspaper articles, starting grids etc Any help will be much apprieciated (Splng? )

Pls forward to this site (Thread) or directly to my e-mail adress
m.fors@telia.com
Sincerely yours

Johan - you're probably making reference to internationally approved homologation so the following may not be of any use.
But in the years you mention, I raced a 1340cc Spridget in a UK-based Modified Production Sports Car series sponsored by Chevron and STP or similar. The winner of our class was Roger Andreason with a Marcos but with a 1800 or 2000 cc Volvo engine, clearly the quickest car. Quite highly developed cars. Period Motoring News or Autosports would reveal much.
Roger I think owns the 'Chevron' name and race car buiding rights or some such. Was based in southern England, Dorset way.
By the way, raced against some good Swedes in Supervees 73 - 76 . Kennert Persson and Tommy Brorsson come to mind, and Gunnar Neilson of course.

Thanks for your kind replies. Roger Andreasson I already knew about. Haven´t come round to give him a call yet though. I think he raced a 1600 as well. I think there´s a guy called Ian Gemmell who raced in period. Anybody knows about him? The motor snippets link I´ve read earlier and however fascinating it is it bears no significance to my problems.
So where can I find motoring news and Autocar?

yours Johan

I think you'l find the Chevron referred to was a Fuel Company ,nothing to do with the Derek Bennet designed cars.

I'm not very good at hard facts, but I'm sure Roger Andreason bought the Chevron name and bits and pieces at one stage. Didn't he produce a Sports 2000 version? I think I raced one of them once in a Thundersports round at Thruxton.
Interesting to learn they've gone back up North.
The reference to Chevron in terms of a championship sponsor was Chevron Oils.
