Hardly wiped the floor with the TCR Europe drivers in Barcelona last year....had the lightest and fastest car in race 2 but was beaten by 2 less experienced drivers with heavier and slower cars....finished 3rd...check the BoP for that weekend.

In what way were the 2 drivers less experienced?

One of them had competed every round, the other was in 5th year of tin-tops, 3rd year in a TCR-spec.

You're forgetting the fact that he had to carry 20kg more than the other VW's because he was a new entry and he had less tyres. Add in that he had never driven the car before and didn't know the track I'd say his results were pretty impressive.

Halder also had the extra 20kgs as well as 97.5% engine power (VW had 100% on BOP). VW was lighter than the Honda before the 20 kgs was added, the VW also ran at 70mm ride height, the Honda 80mm (that equates to speed). Same story for the Hyundai of Nagy. These are facts that can all be checked if you look. The point is he did not blow the TCR Europe field away given his experience (30 races a season vs 14 races in a TCR season, the fact that you all hold BTCC as the pinnacle of tin top racing, etc, etc.) If he was so good why was he not picked up for WTCR or TCR Europe? He and Warren Scott tried but he wasn’t wanted....

He is good but not that good. Look at Sheddon in WTCR last year, made to look like an amateur despite his multiple successes in BTCC.

Last time I checked Shedden and Sutton were different people.

I think you are being obtuse. The commentary was around how Sutton would wipe the floor with most WTCR drivers, I disagree and then used Shedden as a comparator as the same was said of him when he went to WTCR.

Predicted weather has (thankfully) perked up a little at the last minute. Its now looking like we might get 15-16C! Get the "hat" and "splat" out.

'Might' and 'will' are two very different things!

I agree, its rarely warm. I think for 2012 it was actually so hot I needed a hat and suncream, then the following year it was so cold it was actually snowing, so its very hit and miss.

ENJOY IT

Guys come on, a lot of these drivers provide millions of people their entertainment on FREEVIEW too and if you are lucky to go to the track they will meet you, greet you, sign your t shirt

No matter who your favourite is, just take in the fact we have a full grid of fantastic looking and sounding cars with drivers that yes are the top of their game but als that have found a budget to get there, don't be fooled motorsport is a money game from karting to F1, but if you or the next man had the budget you would buy your way in to a car, team or driving opportunity, that's why we are so hooked and such fans of the BTCC
I have been a fan for 30+ years since the late 80s and im only 35...not one season have I though lets forget the BTCC, iv tried following other series especially the WTCC but it doesn't come close (using tracks far too big for touring cars) and simply not getting what saloon car/touring car racing is all about

Drivers have also different dependants in life, trust me a guy of 18-25 with no kids, no worries on finacing a mortgage or a full time job away from cars will drive a lot quicker and take more risks than a 40+ family man (Not saying Andy J isn't at his age) but it does make you question a move or a last lap round the outside jobbie

The only things that should be "booed" or disliked are deliberate ramming (the odd rub and tap isn't bad) so long as car damage is minimal and any actual cheating (technical or safety (not slowing for flags etc)

Enjoy it - don't judge everyone!

Jordan fastest in FP1, and a pretty strong showing from the Hondas:

I get the feeling a lot of ex Hard team members (not just drivers) end up at AMD, tho its very strange as Team Hard were prepared to run him in Clios so there cant have been that big a falling out
