Carlo:
There usually is a grid for formulacars at Jim Clacks Revival. It´s a mix bunch with FF1600, FF2000, FJ FSVee and F3 |

Dont want to dissapoint anyone but the German FF2000 have been the only single seaters at Jim Clark. Apart from TGP and F2. You all need to perswade German Open to have a race at the meeting.

Strange, at their website the F2, FVee, FJuniors and F3 are noted, as classes invited in 2008.

They had modern F3 at Hockenheim in 2008 as well as modern Formula Renault - it rather spoilt the atmosphere, although the parade of blond female Formula Renault drivers was rather ...err.. distracting! FJ and F2 had separate races, Lurani and HSCC respectively, and there was a historic FV race (also separate I think).
But you can run a 1600 cc F3 in the Classic F3 series in the UK or in France and I am sure the Ensign would be very welcome, and of course there is a separate class for those cars. |

Yes Henrik i know you can run 1600 F3 in German Open what i am saying is that you need them to have a German Open race at the Jim Clark. I think in 2008 there was a race meeting the week before or after for us clubbie people.

OK, I get the idea.
Instead of modern F3 they should go historic F3. I will need to speak to the RHA |

I have tried on a few occasions to get one of the Brabham BT38's on to the Classic F3 grids but lack of reliability has been a problem, probably because Lotus Twincams don't like hanging around unused.
Although the 1600 is not competitive against all the Toyota engined 2000 cars, I can assure you the Classic F3 will offer you all the support you could possibly want. I was made to feel really welcome and all of the drivers I spoke to were genuinely interested and happy to see another 1600 out on the track. The cars in question won the classic F3 championship when the Proctors (Father & son) ran them in the late 80's / early 90's. Back then, there ware a lot more 1600s running than now. I will be out again in 2009 and will endeavour to get to Monaco for 2010, although whehter I can match it's 1971 appearance is questionable as I am no Vittorio Brambilla! |

Racecar should be used. I had problems relating to that susject at Spa: cooling and misfire.
No, 1600 cc cars are not competitive against the 2 ltr. cars. But if we could get more focus on them, we might a bigger field. And if they are a class at Monaco in 2010, as Marcus wrote, then it would be a big advantage for the class. For myself, I will spend 2009 getting the Palliser (and myself) in top condition for a super proformance |

Henrik if you are getting fit for Monaco 2010 do you want to join the Delta jogging team at race tracks next year. Its free membership and at the moment there are lots of spaces available.

Thanks for the offer.
Don´t you think I would have to be in better shape, both on track in a car, and on track on my feets. I remember you lapping me twice in a car, and I would hate to see that happens when I´m on my feet too. But will work on it that is happening again. So I will take your offer, but I will start get in shape now Whats you plans for 2009? |

Hello
In the German Open HRA there are more 1600 Driving. This year there were at the minimum three starters (Ensign and March). Last year we have had up to seven starters (Ensign, March and GRD). In 2008 we do not start at the Jim Clark, but we will start there in 2009 when the price and the times are OK. you can Visit www.hra-online.de for more informations and we are happy if some people from this Forum will start with their 1600 next year in Germany kind Regards Marcel Biehl |

I think the cut of year for the CLASIC F3 Cars for Monaco should be the same as we have in the UK series but excluding RT3s.
This would mean my Chvron B43 would be eligable! |

I think we are all crossing our fingers for a F3 race at Monaco.
That would really bring back a lot of vintage atmosphere, because those cars where the cornerstone and take-off point for a lot of the top drivers, up through the 60´s, 70´s and 80´s. |
