kelvin88 should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
I think Tony is right about Kyle. That should of been a Gibbs one- two.

It's all part of the fun to be honest. Though I do have to confess I was keeping an eye on how close Montoya was to Jr... I think it'd have been time for me to make a swift exit if he'd hit him!!

Back home now. Can't believe just how many people there were at Gatwick sporting Daytona 500, #88 and #24 caps and T shirts. I think that's an indication of how the sport is growing. Last time I went to Daytona (2002) I remember spotting just one other fan at the airport.

(Funnily enough I didn't see anyone wearing any Franchitti gear... wonder why! lol)

Good race, pretty surprised the Big One didn't happen, mainly to do with the new car perhaps? (more stable when they get sideways, and bumpers line up)

By the end I kind of wanted Kyle Busch to win, I don't really like him, but he's always so damn exciting to watch! I noticed he never really had a drafting partner, he just kept on switching lanes all the time! the finish would have better if he was at least in with a chance at the end I think...

Nice to see Newman win, someone different from Hendrick anyway, he was getting so close to a win late last year.

IMO the race was okay. The last 30 laps were great. No big crashes.

Great day for Penske...and Dodge (6 in top 10!)

tony has no one to blame but himself. 18 had 0 friends behind him.
tony had the point with 1 lap to go.
18 was nowhere to be found when tony dropped down the bottom.
if there was still a lap to go they could have hooked up.

it was a tony brainfreeze. period.

Well that was my first 500 and it wont be my last thats for sure.
The last 50 laps made that race and i spent most of it listening to jpm talking to his spotter etc and how interesting i found that.
Well pleased that Tony Stewart won on saturday and sooo close on sunday.
The best racing in the world? By a very long way.

We think that they've cut it off for anyone outside the USA, justification enough for me to seek out semi-legal live video streaming.

I am not a afn of oval racing, but these new cars in Nascar, are really awsome, perhaps they are similar to "europeans" touring cars !

The tickets for next years race go on sale 8.00 ET 18/3 .It was my first NASCA race and will be back for speed week next year. Its great entertainment and thats only watching the crowd. No need to rush out as Silverstones traffic is quite quick compared with the trip to the car park
