Forda should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
The Vegemite ad was a campaign in the very early 80's, and to quote their site:

1980
The VEGEMITE brand uses three prominent Australians in their advertising campaign directed at teenagers and young adults - champion racing car driver Peter Brock, tennis legend Ken Rosewall and award winning actress Helen Morse.
It might be possible Brock would have been happy with a contra arrangement in return, as he apparently loved to eat it.

Another one with Alfredo Costanzo - still a FMCG, but was less frowned upon in the past:

Where have all they all gone.

Of course a television advertisement featuring a 10 year old kid driving a car may be against today's Advertising Code.

And paid less than Johnson and Brock to take part in the ad.

Youth wages....

Like everything in the entertainment world. Fame = $$$.
Outside of the motorsport world Brock and Johnson were household names. Harvey not so much. Add in the fact he was effectively a 10 year olds stunt double.

Similar breakfast cereals/bricks subsequently took a smaller interest as well.

'Weet Bix' released Bathurst collector cards in the late 80's/early 90's, and Moffat used to have endorsement from 'Good Start' ("I had a Good Start breakfast") in 1986.

Extractors were in need of endorsement back in the 1980's, possibly to make consumers move faster.

As explained in Harv's biography he wasn't happy though.

There is no legislation banning incidental tobacco brand advertising from period TV footage. Lets not confuse the court ruling on contemporary news reports with period footage.

7Mate regularly broadcast rally and formula one documentaries without blurring the tobacco logos.

Channel 7 in Melbourne show Footy Flashbacks everyone Sunday prior to the AFL game and all the pre 1995 games shown tobacco advertising - never blurred.

Muscle Car Masters, also shown on Seven, showed tobacco sponsored cars - not blurred.

The only instance I can recall of tobacco logos being blurred was on Seven's Bathurst coverage last year - for reasons that still remain a mystery.
Conspiracy Theory Alert!!:

To add to the above, if you flick the TV on in Australia, you will find channels running old shows where smoking was a key part of the program. If "big tobacco" isn't involved in the background somehow promoting the use of these shows through advertising companies...I'll eat my hat!

Rant over

A couple more - Spanners & Plugs.
But with no feedback, is this thread really worth updating any further?

Why not? On the other hand, when the control tyre was brought in to V8 Supercars in the 2000's (?), HRT carried sponsorship for a number of years from Bridgestone tyres, even though they didn't run Bridgestone tyres ( I forget what brand the control tyre was - Dunlop? ). So Brock could have been running plugs other than NGK.

Dunlops from 2002 onwards. When the control tyre was first brought in around 1999 if memory serves, the Championship used Bridgestones.
