I read with grave concern that this has always been a thread on "Tea breaks". This means that all other kinds of hot beverages have been severely discriminated against. There is a clear lack of diversity in this, and what makes it worse no feeling of guilt by the perpetrators whatsoever.

In this day and age it needs to be: "Deltas T/C/D Break"

Tea / Coffee /Divers

There is a problem with the tea & coffee because somewhere in the dim & distant pass they may well have involved slave labour! And of course one must remember that black coffee is now known as coffee without milk.

We could have a whole new thread on things you mustn't say.

Surely if Bell's banter is a Title then banter should be capitalised?

ie, Bauble's Picture Parade. (as it should read)

No, i am afraid not. Too much capitalisation around when not necessary! And your title should be “Bauble’s picture parade”

I don't subscribe to the new fashion of titling documents so, being old fashioned it's capitalised. Titles aren't sentences.

I once worked with a bloke who refused to capitalise the first paragraph of a letter on the basis that the salutation ended with a comma.

Legal docs used to ignore punctuation in order to create ambiguity. Nowadays poorly prepared letters when disclosed in a court of law are often dismissed.

Fair enough, this is the historic section after all so you are quite right, we shouldn’t have new fashions.

Now about the use of modern materials in historics?!?

To be fair, they're probably looking for carbon fibre as it's Goodwood and quintessentially English not American. Otherwise they'd have aluminum bodywork as well.

I go with the capitalisation and correct punctuation every time I'm afraid. So it's 'Bell's Banter' for me. It's a title, and titles have always been capitalised. All this modern text speak and dilution of the English language gets right up my nose.

I heard some nonsense somewhere a while ago that younger people may be offended by full stops and capital letters in a text message. What is wrong with these morons? How the hell can anyone be 'offended' by correct punctuation & grammar, FFS!

My other half before she retired was a PA to the bursar at a very large public school for over 30 years and can't stand bad spelling and grammar.
One of here pet hates is the use of the "apostrophe" that people use willy nilly in everyday writing and especially on notice boards.
She has a marker pen in her handbag and will sometimes alter things that she sees whilst driving along and I remember once I was driving and she said "stop the car" as she had seen a sign saying "Egg's for sale".
I suppose that her father being a school teacher didn't help

Chérie, chérie, viens vite voir, il y a une bande de Rosbifs déchaînés qui fait montre d'un torride sens de l'humour! C'est tordant, tu vas apprécier.

Know what you crazy posters? I love that, I'm jealous of the magical, wonderful, no limit and unmatchable sens of humor you display here.
Oh yes, sure Mike is smiling, no doubt about that.
Messieurs les Anglais, votre Brexit va rendre votre humour encore plus désirable, que dis-je, in one word exotic. Cheers to that dear Rosbifs!
