Well done Tel, it needs regular input to maintain interest, but I do not want to hog the limelight, although I have much I could boast about, having been incredibly lucky to have found a small niche in the motor sport Media.

So one more story that is not too self glorifying (for a change)

In the eighties/nineties Silverstone used to run a race for Historic GP cars after the Brit GP, to help ease outflow from the circuit. One year based at Copse I took a shot of the field on the first lap, when I had it developed (Pre Digital days) I saw that Robs Lamplough was leading the pack by a margin, and was giving a 'thumbs-up' sign. Some time later, probably the next year I gave him a copy of the picture. He immediately said in a pleased voice; "That's the picture I've been waiting for", he then explained that he knew his BRM would not last the race and had bet friend that he would lead at Copse and make the 'Thumb's up' sign. With my picture he could claim the six bottles of Champagne he had won.

Happily I am TT so did not mind not being offered a bottle.

Stories like that are good when they come together after a years time .How many things do we see that we never quite understood why it was like that .
