Homebuild SLR
From another forum
German guy converted his 500 SEC to a SLR McLaren, as you can see from the pictures, the quality of work is stunning, it really looks like SLR inside out. http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=848531&page=1 |

If I was going to go to the effort of building a car I think I would choose an original design over a replica, especialy a contempory replica!
Having said that, it's a great piece of work. |

I also read about somebody who was going to build an XJ220 the way it was originally shown - ie with V12 and awd. It may have been the same guy who built an XJ13 replica, which was absolutely superb

I came across someone who was going to convert a standard XJ220 into a V12 XJ220. Which would have been nice. However it doesn't fix the inherent problem that it is too big.
The Merc. What a decent effort. I suspect it wouldn't stand to being next to a real one, but well executed. |
