Sorry to disappoint you Richard, by last Sunday there were only eight Scottish Classic entries.
I hope there are more Alfas - I'm looking forward to seeing them.

Eight cars appeared at Oulton Park for two races on 25th May.
Despite the paltry field, there was some exciting racing.

Only seven cars started race one, George Leitch’s Fiesta having succumbed to engine problems after one lap of qualifying.
Tommy Gilmartin won, followed by Robert Marshall, three seconds adrift.
Third and fourth places were taken by Alasdair Coates and Tim Reid, separated
by less than a second. Iain Sinclair and David Scott were the final runners,
less than half a second apart. John Kinmond retired.

Race two was won by Marshall, followed by Gilmartin, one second behind.
Sinclair took third, 0.1 second ahead of Reid. Scott was the only other finisher.
Kinmond didn’t start, neither did Coates , due to gearbox difficulties.

The next two rounds of the championship are at Knockhill on 23rd June.

Next two rounds this Sunday at Knockhill. Weather forecast predicts heavy rain - hopefully the racing will brighten-up the day. I can't be sure of entries as the list hasn't yet appeared on the Knockhill website.
(Fifteen entires was mentioned by one competitor earlier this week.)

Robert Marshall headed qualifying in damp conditions at Knockhill on 23rd June.
Both Raymond Boyd and Tommy Gilmartin managed to pass him on the first lap of race one. Gilmartin established a comfortable lead by the ninth of twelve laps, however he
failed to finish due to a jammed throttle. Harry Simpson climbed from fourth in qualifying to win by three seconds from Boyd and Marshall.

Race two saw the leading group of cars in very close competition for several laps.
This resulted in some slower than normal lap times, which was advantageous to Gilmartin who came from the back of the grid to win by 0.5 second from Simpson.

The next two rounds are at Knockhill on 14th July.

A few of my piccies from Oulton Park. A bit of a disappointing entry compared to 2012 but the racing was good.

I'm really pleased the Scottish racers come to Oulton. The Mini's are spectacular and the Classics interesting. A very enjoyable crowd and please keep coming back

Alan, those are great photos. Hopefully, there will be a return to Oulton Park next year, with a larger number of cars.

Eighteen drivers entertained the crowd at Knockhill during rounds ten and eleven of the championship on 14th July. Harry Simpson, Ginetta G4, posted the fastest qualifying and race times. However, he was runner-up to Tommy Gilmartin, Morgan +8, in both races, separated by 0.2 seconds. Raymond Boyd, Porsche 911, finished third in each race.

Class Winners in races one and two were:

A Andy Walker, George Leitch
B Simpson
C Robert Marshall, Jimmy Crow
D Boyd
E Gilmartin

On August 11th the next two rounds of the championship take place at Knockhill.

11th August Meeting - Knockhill - Willie Robertson

The classics meeting next weekend will be held in memory of the late Willie Robertson (240Z in many of your pictures), Iain 'Titch' Mitchell will drive Willie's Datsun.

Unfortunately I'll be on holiday, but thoughts and best wishes will be at KH.

Here's hoping for a big turnout of cars and supporters.

After a successful first run-out at KMSC weekend 27/28th July, #61 will be out at the SMRC September 15th meeting.

There are twenty-one entries for tomorrow's races - largest grid of the season.
Looking forward to a great day's racing, with the regular Knockhill series plus visiting Northern Sports and Saloon car championship.

Just realised that I forgot to add a report of the races on 11th August.

The largest entry of the season, twenty-one cars, attended The Willie Robertson Memorial races.
Harry Simpson won the first in his Ginetta G4, with Morgan +8s of Andy Smith
and Russell Paterson second and third respectively. Simpson also claimed a new class record.
A change of order in race two saw Smith win from Paterson and Simpson third.

Ian Mitchell had two seventh places in Willie Robertson’s Datsun 240Z.

Class Winners in races one and two were:

A George Leitch
B Simpson
C Robert Marshall
D Raymond Boyd
E Smith

Two races take place tomorrow, 15th September, at Knockhill.

Sept 15th Meeting

13 entries and some great non-contact racing in appalling conditions! I'm sure I shouldn't need armfuls of opposite lock through McIntyres/Scotsman, though my first class win made it worth it. Having slithered around, just keeping Cameron Gilmour's A30 at bay, I finished just behind George Leitch but a 10 second penalty for a jump start demoted him.

1st race went to Robert Marshall after some close racing between his Escort and the Porsches of Stan Bernard and Ray Boyd. Class wins to me (A), Harry Simpson (only entrant B), Robert Marshall (C), Ray Boyd (D) and Tommy Gilmartin (E).

2nd race was like being on ice with oil flags all round the track from the previous Sports saloons race. Having spun off at the first crowded trip through Duffus I recovered to the back. Robert Marshall again took the overall and class C win with Ray Boyd 2nd (D). Alex Montgomery's MGB V8 took class E from Tommy and George Leitch won class A with me a more distant 2nd. Harry Simpson DNS.

Many thanks to all the marshalls and the few spectators that braved the weather. Biggest thanks to fellow drivers who, on a day that could have spelled carnage, drove hard but safe.

If anyone has pictures from the event please post them/links up.

Next and final meeting 6th October.
Steve

Steve, great to read your report - congratulations on the class win.
I was disappointed that I coudn't get along to the meeting - perhaps fortunate to avoid the monsoon conditions!

I'm off to watch some of the Scottish Classic drivers at Spa - six at the last count - Messrs. Benn, Coates, Gilmartin, Gray, Smith and Toye.

Saw David at Bo'ness and he mentioned Spa, send him my best for the event and his plans for November.

Let me know what Robin is running as I guess we might see it next year and for heavens sake don't party with the TR8 squadron!

See you at the 'final fling'
