Adam Ronke should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Someone left their car too close to their camp fire when they went to watch the V8 race, it caught fire, and the security and Winton staff put it out, then the CFA arrived and gave it a little squirt.

Best races seen in ages, the Winton 300 and the Qld 280 (300-gst). Those races had actual strategy in them, which is almost gone out of Sandown and Bathurst now. Remember how many cars ran out of fuel...... But the average punter cant keep up with it Errrrrrrrr. Winton should at least have been 300km. Why does it matter that it was down to be 3 races in China, why couldn't it be changed?

I don't understand the comments regarding not being able to follow who was leading...sitting trackside, my 4 year old figured out that there were two goups of cars...once I'd explained that one group had pitted and the others hadn't, and simply looking for the green light in the window told you which was which, I had myself a race lead spotter and a post-pit stop race lead spotter...

Really not that hard on a track like Winton where the cars don't come out in the traffic after pitstops

The only confusion was Whincup during race 1, who we thought was racing for position as he was having a fair go at Bright, and Bright was not stepping aside...surprisingly this battle (which included Lowndes) was for a sum of ZERO points! Amazing when you consider the facts stated by others in this thread that the points gain determines whether you should have a go or not...

Its even easier when you did out your old walkman (remember those, when tapes were king!!), stick the bits in your ears and tune in. I've scrounged two old ones, or use your new fangled mobile with built in FM tuner.

Is there not a PA system on the trackside with commentary running through it?

Thanks icfp2297, but I didn't say I couldn't work out who was winning that particular race. As you have pointed out, that is easy. It's more that you really have no idea during race 2 who is actually winning the round (and therefore the grid spots for race three)

When I watched the replays on Ten, they went to great pains to explain who was winning "the round" during the progress of the day. Us mugs at the track had no idea........

Who would have thought that Bright almost won 2 races but still didn't win the round???

Reverse grids?

Now there's a decision that needs reversing.....
