THere are some amazing 'continuation' trucks on the classic commercial scene, would love an old Ford truck with modern underpinnings, motorhome up front and race car at the back.

I'm a bit worried about the "trannies" part of the title of this thread; I keep experiencing disturbing flashes of Al Weyman in a dress....

I think there were about 5 built (by Marshalls of Cambridge?) for use as mobile classrooms for mechanics when the Mini came out, and they went on to have second lives as rally support vehicles or went overseas to colonial dealers.

There are still some of the others around.

And here it is on tour in Norway, 1964.
You can see it's original color behind the crashed alu panel.

And could you put me in contact with him ??

There's some odd things about the history, you see.
And in the Bonham description it sayes that there is copies of period photos and "as found" photos.

In my files the "Basil Wales" bus were LHD, while this one is RHD !!!
And the "Unipart" bus do exist, as a travellers home in Devon - Cornwall area !!!

There's also some other oddities.

Many thanks,

Brimen, I don't know the owner but I'm sure there's someone on here who does. When I next see it I'll knock on the door and ask.

No idea but back in 2005 it looked as if it had been towed there or had at some point in the recent past been fitted with a substantial towing bar of some sort attached in the area of the front axle. Hence the lack of front bumper - maybe.

It certainly gave the impression that it could have been used by some 'New Age Travellers' for a while. Seeing it amongst the campers, old and new, near the vintage planes display (ah, those were the days ...) was somewhat puzzling.

I can find you one in the US for about 1000 USD and you can build a replica, plenty of these laying around doubling as toolsheds and/or chicken coops
Pretty darn cool though.
