it was a big accident and the worst qualifying of ever for Autodelta, with Larini and Tarquini without times.

Larini and Tarquini yes of course, they only spun off. Fisichella surely won´t run, he said in Eurosport car is destroyed.

Giancarlo Fisichella and Nicola Larini both experienced violent shunts before championship challenger Gabriele Tarquini saw his hopes disappear when he dumped his 156 Gta in the gravel. At least Tarquini will start...

Larini seems to have heavy damages in his car also, and maybe it could lose warm up even.

Wow, it seems the gremlins really are giving Alfa a hard time. OTOH, I guess this makes the season finale (or still one more race?) an exciting race!
OTOH, if Alfa can pull off a win, they really deserve it?

Larini missed breaking point in Ascari. Fisico crashed heavily and Tarquini probably lost the championship before the race is on. Sad day for Alfa Romeo, best chances for BMW. That's motorsport.

Rickard’s engine had a major problem in Estoril, and it was not possible to repair it in time, due to lack of some critical components,” explained Volvo Motorsport chief Olle Odsell. “The only available spare engine is a test engine, that is not fully competitive.”

Conclusions:
a) They have a small budget.
b) Rydell's last race in the Volvo.

Fisi certainly made a mess of that Alfa - on a lighter note, nice to see Zanardi qualifying in 11th, he's clearly still got that immense talent we saw in Champ Cars in the late 90's

What a shame the ALfas ahve gone so badly. Looks like Colcagio and Thompson will be upholding their honour entirely. great effort from james consdiering that he's not used to the cars.

As for Zanardi qualifying mid-pack, I'm grinning from ear to ear. Well done mate.

Maybe the other Alfa men can give Muller and Priaulx some "kisses" to shove them into the gravel.

Very good result of indepentdant driver Huisman.

Yes, all in Ascari during their warm up-laps, very strange. Colciago and Thompson are one and 3/100 of a second away from pole, so the GTA in fact is "competitive". To be realistic: BMW should win under these circumstances.
