Moto GP2025
The Musical Chairs are about to start with Manufacturers lining up to secure their budding stars for 2025. Its going to be an interesting second half of the Season. Whats your thoughts?
I think a younger Jorge will get promoted to alongside Peco, as surely Marcs personal sponsors (redbull) will take precedent over any move? Does Marc stay with Grecini? More than likely or does he get wooed to KTM with Redbull and push aside Acosta who stays with GASGAS. Does Jack Miller end up on a bike next year or does he end up in WSB? Along with the F1 Musical Chairs this looks to be a interesting watch for the second half of the signing season. |

Today, the 6th weekend of MotoFIM is beginning. With 5 GPs already done, there begin to appear some patterns. Some people seems to be on target for the title. Others have already a hard path ahead.
I have done some graphics showing the gaps respect the leader, in the three cats MotoGP, Moto 2 and Moto 3 (no Moto E at the moment). The graphs are done in such a way that the vertical scale shows the level of difficulty of overcoming that gap.I.e.,one can see how the gaps go harder or easier across the season. Riders are represented by colors more or less related to bike color. The order of the drivers is the same as in the Chamnpionship table. The lowest one is the leader, and the higher he is, the worse is his situation. The order of charts is: MotoGP: Martin, Bagnaia, MMarquez,... Moto2: SGarcia, Roberts, Aldeguer,... Moto3: Holgado, Alonso, Veijer,... |

If I had to choose one, I'd choose Martin.
If I could play more conservatively, I'd pick Martin, Bagnaia... Marquez! If I wanted to break the bank, I would go with Acosta!! Imagine the bet! Look at Bastianini, nobody talk about him. Ha has not done anything heroic yet and he is in the mix from the beginning. He has a gold card with his late race pace. What do you think about this season? Note: sorry if my future reply is delayed, I see the practices and races of the 4 cats delayed in Internet and , usually, I take days to watch all the races! Until then, I should not enter here... |

There's a lot of ppl who think Marquez to Ducati is as good as done just because Martin went to Aprilia. I really hope Im wrong but I expect Ducati to sign a boring #2 rider. Either Beast is resigned or maybe Bezzechi. Bez might be ok if he gets back to 2023 form.
If Ducati really wants to win as much as possible , they'd sign either Marquez or Martin. But they probably wont. I have no idea where Marc will go |

I am pretty sure that out of the two Pecco only wanted one of them there, bizarre decision, but I hope he falls flat on his face and I respect Martin a bit more for sticking his vees up at them especially if he wins the title!!

In this deal the team General Manager has a bigger ego than the riders. |

I just wish now for Martin to tie up the championship and at least walk away with the #1 to deprive Ducati of that.

Me too.Im pretty neutral about cheering for anyone in Moto GP normally but he’s been messed around by Ducati management ever since they inexplicably preferred Bastiani to him.

SO changing of the guards is happening across a few teams it seems.
Interesting move by Vinale's Now Jack and Fernandes to find seats amongst others. |

An updated version of the graph I had put two GPs ago. It is just a tool to measure the difficulty of catching the leader, taking in account the gap in points and the number of races to go. It doesn't take on account the sudden changes in performances between the bikes' brands (famous case: Bagnaia vs Quartararo).
The vertical axe shows the "distance" from each rider to the leader in the Championship table. "Real contenders" can b considered those who are placed below the 10 horizontal line (>10% of chance to overcome the gap with the leader in the rest of the season) . Above the 25 horizontal line is virtually impossible to reach the leader (1% of chance to overcome the gap). The colors try to show approx the color of the bikes(?). The order, from down to top is the order in the Championship table. I know the explanations are strange but it is not easy to explain it well, IMHO. Basically: MGP: Only 3 easy contenders (J.MAR,BAG,M.MAR) Mo2: Again 3 contenders (GAR,ROB,OGU) Mo3: Two contenders... almost one! (ALO,HOL) Others are near enough to become real contenders, but, historically speaking, it is not easy to come back to the lower zone in the graph. Each one of us have our personal opinion about what rider is going to do better or worse from now on... but it is a different story! I hope it can be useful as a general view. |

Several years looks to me as an error for Acosta... except if there are generous options to get out. He is now a valuable star and KTM is uncertain as a championable bike. I am sure he has several potential "fiancees".

On another side, he know Marc is a legend and probably he would like to win a title with Marc. These kind of thoughts have happened in F1. I don't think these ideas are totally unreasonable. |

As a passionate Aussie and (Jack fan) unless something happens miraculously, I think the seats have been asigned or close too. Im not sure he will find a way through with whats left. I could be wrong but maybe 2025 is done.

I like MotoGP and the rider nationality is not the be all and end all, but at the rate we are going there will only be 3 or 4 nationalities on the grid. |

Could be an interesting weekend, maybe a few more announcements.
I few more pieces to move yet. As an Aussie, I hope for Jack to land at Gresini although no promises there ! |

I think you might find BMW are pushing Toprak tog et in there before they step up with him, if he does a year or two on a decent bike he will gain massively and I would take him any day over a tired and jaded and massively underperforming Miller who will also be expensive by the way.
Only issue is BMW have flirted with GP so may times, it's like Audi in F1, will they wont they |
