its amazing how many spectator mechanics tell drivers how slow they are yet given the option of passenger ride or even drive the car they have a "code brown" moment !
yes Christian i have no real interest in EB racing for various/obvious reasons plenty of other race categories to run in that i have cars for and when i inherit the F1 collection i will polish them |

I doubt very much that there will be any security on either tunnel at Brands this weekend. If you want to go see the cars then just walk across. Provided you don`t act stupid in the pit lane then I would think it will be just fine.
Just back from Brands. Sadly only two cars decided to test. De Boers Panoz, and van Kalmthouts Benetton. A few lock-ups into Druids from the Panoz, and a rotation on Druids entry, followed by a very impressive spin-turn to get facing the right way again (though sadly nearly lost it again at the end of the spin turn, thus forcing himself over the grass around the top of Druids!!!). van Kalmthout had a small problem in the second session when someone presumably failed to screw down some front bodywork, so he had to complete a slow lap back to the pits holding it down with one hand!! I was informed that Beckers car was in the pits but was not seen on track. Also a Minardi 2-Seater truck (which team??) and Mr Hansfords truck waiting to cross the circuit to access GP Paddock as I left. |

I read the word 'confirmed' as there may be changes... Any update?
Never been to brands (stupid as it is 5 miles from my house), can people comment on the 'just wonder into the pits' suggestion? Ps. Saw the 2x minardi truck down the road from brands this morning, will they be running? (here's a mad thought - run that car in the race hehehe) |

At last years historic festival I was at the garage entrances as Lola T70's thundered in and out - marvellous... The paddock by Paddock Hill bend is always open to the public. |

I wouldn't encourage people to venture in to the pit lane itself, walking behind the garages where you can see the cars is more sensible. I think the Minardi truck maybe something to do with Fritzs team.

Damn, if I found out earlier I could have gone down to Brands Hatch this weekend, I've always wanted to see classic F1 cars in action.
Are there any other events taking place this year in the UK? What's the calendar for this season? If there aren't any UK events I might check out one that's abroad. |

What was going on with MvK?
In the first race only 13 laps, in the second race none. Technical failure or crash? |

One of the Benettons (all over blue - didn't catch the name) had a big off, lost the rear coming out of Graham Hill bend and went into the tyre wall at speed. Took a rear corner off and brought out the safety car. Race was quite good I thought - some really nice cars out there and the noise is superb . I'll put up a couple of piccies when I've got them off the camera.

He spun off at Druids in the first race and the second race he spun and hit the barrier on the inside at Graham Hill Bend. Unfortunantly as Bert said the car did suffer a fair bit of damage, however he had been very fast all weekend in his newly acquired ex Ascari Benetton B197.

Was really good to actually see Euroboss today, rather than just reading some of the "politics / bickering" on here. Got there just in time for the warm up and enjoyed the race, and had a good look around the cars in the paddock. Highlight of the day for me, top stuff

was much better then i thought it would be, especially with the not so large entry. Shame about all the problems with the start on Saturday but a good idea to change the procedure to stop it happening . Also a shame that quite a large proportion of the first race and also a bit of the second race was under safety car, but overall fairly good

I wasnt really sure what to expect! It was much better than i first thought it would be and the noise was incredible! Shame about M. van Kalmthout crashing in the second race, but overall it produced some brilliant racing.

I thoroughly enjoyed this afternoons race - cars looked superb & sounded great. I was impressed by the professionalism of the teams - good luck to them and I hope they will be back next year.

What was that little red car (number 4) that looked completely out of its league with the big cars?
