I think the aeroscreen fits in well with the high speed technology of the series

Why the negativity? At least he is spending his inherited wealth on a venture that benefits us with entertainment, and provided a seat for a great talent. Would you have rather he sat on his inheritance to no benefit to us? I'd like to see him stick around, as he has a lot of wealth to give him a head start on getting a team off the ground and established.

There's got to be some new owners to come in sometime.

He wasn't spending his money, he was hoping to use his name to generate sponsors and connections. That didn't happen, as most expected, as he didn't work the rooms. He wanted people to come to him and think just working with the Steinbrenner name would be an opportunity too good to pass up.

Can you blame him? Penske doesn't use his own money. And will cut from 4 to3 cars or down to 2 if funding isn't there. Same for ganassi I'm guessing. And I'd say the results for a new, one car, underfunded team were pretty exceptional. And now he's partnered with Andretti. Who knows what his team may look like in a few years. I just don't understand the negativity directed at him.

According to this Racer.com article, the Nielsen numbers for NBC’s first full season of televising the IndyCar series were up, though not astounding.

Ganassi trying to keep all their IMSA crew guys busy for 2020, adding a third car for Ericsson. And looking for finding to run Oliver Askew as well with his million dollar champs payout

A large number of the current viewers seem to be based on the legacy of previous iterations of open wheel racing, possibly even grandfathers, are the current viewers all older viewers who had open wheel racing ingrained in their DNA while racing viewership was still "socialist" before commercialization, ridiculous entry fees and everyone being milked by pay TV?
The nodes of viewership strength are really fascinating.

So Ericsson in at Ganassi. Nothing wrong with that, as he is in a third seat, as long as the other two are top quality experienced drivers

Just keep the other 2 the same and it's a strong lineup. Ericcsonn provides some money for the team, so that's good. Nd opens up the second arrow/McLaren car for what will hopefully be a better driver than just a pay driver. One more car on the grid is always good!

Yeah well throw him in a new series, not great team (but yes, there are worse), rain at 2 races and expect him to win right away. Yup, that's a successful plan for development there Marko. But that's why his cupboards are BARE now, he's fired everyone who wasn't Max.

Pato must be more than good tho. Maybe he said he wanted to be back in America for longer. He might well get further chances to head to.F1 with Mclaren.

Oh no, I definitely agree with you. Pato is MUCH better than Marko thinks, sadly it seems like Marko wanted Pato in G1 NOW and he wasn't going to have the points to do so. I could see Pato being a McLaren reserve driver if he can earn more points. But sadly F1 might be out of reach without going to Europe with McLaren.

It's not really anything new or definite yet, but as the Toronto promoters are sending out emails today to start ticket renewals for the 2020 race, there will likely be decisions being made in the next few months about possible future building projects at Exhibition Place that could make it difficult or impossible for it to continue. If you scroll down to the images on pages 3, 5, 6 and 7 of this pdf brochure, you can see how building an expansion to the trade centre would take up the space where the pit lane and trackside suites have been in recent years.

I don't think you can fault marko on this one. The fia screwed pato. There was nowhere for pato to go, and no path to f1 without the points. Sounds like pato and marko are on good terms. Sure, he may be too impatient with some drivers, but I don't think this is a good example of that.

Nope, Marko wanted an exemption for Indy Lights. He knew going in that was not going to happen and thought he could bully the FIA in to granting him points. After the season the FIA released a statement saying the points for that and another series were not going to be granted as they had under 10 full season entrants.

And when the exemption didn't come, he encouraged pato to take or look at other opportunities as soon as they came available. So, he tried to give it a shot, then didn't hold him back for rest of the year when the exemption wasn't granted. Still not seeing anything in this to be negative to marko about.

Sounds like The Mayor is without a seat for 2020 now, SPAM (I'm stealing RM's name) well be announcing O'Ward and Askew in their cars for 2020. I'm guessing they've bought out Hinch's ride so he's a free agent and I believe still actually signed with Honda of Canada through the end of the calendar year. I'm guessing we'll see him in a Honda but there's slim picking now for a full season ride. I'm guessing Honda will have some pull and we'll see him on the grid and not towards the rear hopefully.

I like SPAM, Schmidt Peterson Arrow McLaren, less of a mouthful than Arrow McLaren Racing SP.

Where is The Mayor going to go? Dale Coyne sometimes run a third car. Would RLLR run a third car? Possibly at Indy with Honda money because he's signed with Honda of Canada. All the other Honda rides look like they are taken.

Yannick should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
As good as it is for the two rookies to get their feet in IndyCar's door at Arrow McLaren Schmidt Peterson next year, it still makes me wonder how the team want to be successful at the Indianapolis 500 when their expected driver for their additional 3rd car, Fernando Alonso, will be the most experienced guyin their lineup with 1 start and 1 non-qualification at that event. It's a surprise that the team has not hired an experienced driver.
