Thats really good news for the BTCC! Hey, maybe we'll get those usual 8-9 manufacturers back just like old times. Hopefully the cars would be the proper 4 door family saloon cars but anything goes for the moment.

Gotta say though, Alan Gow was like God for the BTCC during the 90's. I'm definately gonna keep an eye on the forum for the next few months to see what develops. If it is true that there are 6 manufacturers interested...i'll definately be going back to Silverstone to see the BTCC again (and ofc at Rockingham aswell)

Now I admit that despite having been closely involved with the BTCC prior to 2001 as a journalist (Super Touring magazine among others) these days I follow the series from a distance so don't know all the goings on.But it's seemed to me for some time that it's lacked the top flight status it enjoyed in the mid-90s. Personally I think putting Alan Gow back in charge is the best way to rediscover that status. The announcements flowing in the few days he's been in charge have shown that.

In my days covering the BTCC I didn't always see to eye to eye with Alan Gow (and yes Alan, I'm sure I irritated you more often than you irritated me!), but he's definitely the man to put the series back on its pedestal. The future's bright....

Now all we need is to lure Murray Walker out of retirement and our team is complete again!!
