Jonathan Cochet in 2005

Anyone know what Jonathan is up to in 05, any rumours at all, his website went off line a few weeks ago, never a good sign, i hate to say it but it really is looking like another very talented driver has missed out due to lack of funds, what a shame.

He has been testing the new Renault World Series chassis at Vairano:

Apart from that, I haven't heard anything. I'd like to see him in GP2/Superfund/Renault V6, I always thought his talent went to waste.

Afraid not gomick, he was busy testing for Courage up until 1 week before Le Mans when he was dropped because they lost their engine deal, he last did the Nissan World Series in 03, did the first round for GD then got dropped for Bernoldi. I really hope he can get a drive in the Renault World Series, the guy could be a real hero if someone would put a bit of trust in him.

He isn't allowed to race in World Series. His contrat with Renault doesn't permit him that because he has tested a lot the new car. ;-)

You're dead right about his renault contract stopping him from racing in the world series or GP2, but it looks as if he'll probably drive the works Courage LMP2 car at Le Mans and in the LMES

Good to see he has picked up a drive in super GT, brave move after it all seemed to go wrong for him in the Nippon series a few years ago, i don`t know a lot about racing in Japan but if he is on the pace in super GT what are the chances of him getting a race or two in Nippon again, don`t know if ARTA have cars in both series.

I think he's been dropped in favour of Ralph Firman. Current betting is that he'll do the LMES and Le Mans with Courage.

Jonathan got dropped for Ralph Firman in the Super GT from the ARTA Team. It's in the sports car forum.

I know i am biased but that must be hard to take for JC, ok Ralph knows his way around the tracks out there but why would ARTA sign Cochet then drop him without giving him a race, very odd and not very nice, just hope mister Courage does the right thing.
