Team mate battle results for qualifying after round three.
Mercedes: Lewis Hamilton - 1 Mercedes: Valtteri Bottas - 2 Ferrari: Sebastian Vettel - 2 Ferrari: Kimi Raikkonen - 1 Red Bull: Daniel Ricciardo - 1 Red Bull: Max Verstappen - 2 Force India: Sergio Perez - 2 Force India: Esteban Ocon - 1 Williams: Lance Stroll - 1 Williams: Sergey Sirotkin - 2 Renault: Nico Hulkenberg - 3 Renault: Carlos Sainz Jnr - 0 Toro Rosso: Pierre Gasly - 1 Toro Rosso: Brendon Hartley - 2 Haas: Romain Grosjean - 1 Haas: Kevin Magnussen - 2 McLaren: Fernando Alonso - 3 McLaren: Stoffel Vandoorne - 0 Sauber: Marcus Ericsson - 2 Sauber: Charles Leclerc - 1 Perez the only driver to beat his team mate by more than 2 spots. All others closer to their team mate than previous rounds. Hulkenberg and Alonso the only two drivers to have beaten their respective team mates in all three qualifying sessions this year. Really surprised about Sainz. Was expecting better from him. Ferrari had the better overall car last year. Not so much in qualifying, but better in the races. This year they have definitely stepped up another notch in the chassis department, and is currently marginally ahead of Mercedes. Ferrari seems to have also matched (or even slightly bettered) the Mercedes PU. They now have the best car on the grid by far. The Ferrari is the biggest threat of 2018. Now up to Mercedes to make a comeback if they want to win the championship(s). Last edited by F1Guy; 14 Apr 2018 at 07:37. |

Lulu staring at Valtteri’s Bot-bot for the second race in a row! Tables are turning...pressure is on and Hamilton made a mistake on the last lap. Ferrarims very strong around here and nice bounce backs from Hartley & Leclerc to beat their teammates. Sterling effort by RBR and Dan to get up so high.

Results after Round 3
Mercedes: Lewis Hamilton - 1 Mercedes: Valtteri Bottas - 2 Ferrari: Sebastian Vettel - 2 Ferrari: Kimi Raikkonen - 1 Red Bull: Daniel Ricciardo - 2 Red Bull: Max Verstappen - 0 Force India: Sergio Perez - 1 Force India: Esteban Ocon - 2 Williams: Lance Stroll - 3 Williams: Sergey Sirotkin - 0 Renault: Nico Hulkenberg - 3 Renault: Carlos Sainz Jnr - 0 Toro Rosso: Pierre Gasly - 2 Toro Rosso: Brendon Hartley - 1 Haas: Romain Grosjean - 0 Haas: Kevin Magnussen - 3 McLaren: Fernando Alonso - 3 McLaren: Stoffel Vandoorne - 0 Sauber: Marcus Ericsson - 2 Sauber: Charles Leclerc - 1 Hamilton in no man’s land today. Strategy didn’t help but neither did his qualifying or first lap. Great effort by Bottas to hold off Kimi at the end. Vettel unlucky. Kimi gets some overdue luck. Hulk and KMag still streets ahead of their teammates. Dan the Man showing who’s boss at RBR. Max needs to calm down. The expectation is high, but his application leaves a lot to be desired at the moment. He’ll get there. Fortuituous win but some OUTSTANDING overtakes by Ricciardo. Bravo! Unfortunate spin put a downer on a strong weekend by Leclerc. |

Hmm...
So you weren't that thrilled about this thread, first in with the negativity on page 1. If so, then why post your "agenda", yet alone the first in to update the list?? |

Interesting.
Dan Ricc looking good to be in demand and fought over by the top teams. Alonso wrecking Vandoorne career. Probably find out soon Alonso owns a share in Norris... Hulk destroying Sainz. Perez still shading Ocon. Stroll claiming he got the most out of the car that was humanly possible. Unbelievably deluded. Williams should be nil-nil. Leclerc oh dear. As far as team mate battles, we all expected Vettel to win against Raikkonen. But what Ferrari did to Raikkonen today was downright disgraceful. He qualified P2, but Ferrari basically disregarded this all together, and turned him into a road block in an attempt to help Vettel. Whereas most other teams would look at ways to keeping that 1-2 at the finish line also.
So glad that karma played a part in the final outcome. Shame Ferrari. You are an absolute disgrace. |

If Ferrari would impose sensible team orders off the start line they could keep the first two positions through the first corner. Racing one another and Vettel pinching Raikkonen off the start means that they allow someone to go around the outside and overtake the second car, then they are unable to properly backup the opposition. Los, lose just clumsy for no good purpose. Last edited by wnut; 16 Apr 2018 at 04:09. |

"But-ass" beats Hamilton again... Should have won race if not for an unlucky safety car, after being tagged with this "clever" nickname by the same guy that brought you "honda should be charged with bringing f1 into disrepute", "Ericsson doesn't belong on the grid", and "Vettel is mlst overrated driver", just in time for a top 5 for Honda, Ericsson to score points, and Vettel to put on a sublime drive last week.... What opposite day statements can we look forward to next race?

Raikkonen reportedly found in a confused and delusional state in Baku!
https://www.motorsportweek.com/news/id/17910 Should be a great battle between the Ferrari team mates in 2018 then.. |

He certainly has a car that suits him and has shown so far, especially in China. There's no doubt he can still win, just needs Vettel to hit troubles though

Raikkonen is delusional to think he has "100 per cent the same chance" as team-mate Vettel to win the Formula 1 title. Raikkonen is probably the better driver of the two, but his highly overrated team-mate is the chosen one at Ferrari. Probably because Ferrari has to somehow justify the exorbitant amount of money they paid Vettel to drive for them. Overrated - AND over paid. |

That settles it. Raikonen will win, Vettel second.
