Montezemelo thinking of calling it a day (maybe)
I've just spotted this on BBC.
Luca di Montezemolo maybe thinking of stepping down as head of Ferrari. The full story is here: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport/hi/engli...00/2073002.stm What are everyone's thoughts on this? As long as Todt and Brawn remain in place, I can't see much difference to the F1 team, but what does this mean long term? Last edited by Spudgun; 30 Jun 2002 at 22:33. |

I've heard rumours for sometime that Luca is headed for a major cabinet-level post with the Berlusconi goverment.
I believe he also is into making perfumes (Aqua di Selva??)and is good at organizing things. I see him more of an example of the italian upper class than a true F1 man. Luca has a knack for bringing success about and I'm sure he'd do well elsewhere but his departure would not hurt Ferrari much. Jean Todt (the much maligned Jean Todt) would be a different story if he left Ferrari. My guess is that Jean would take over Luca's position...unless it has to be an italian.... Cheers, RT |
