Touring car engines

I am watching some (or better: so far I saw all races of the 2008 season) TC2000 races and was looking at www.tc2000.com.ar for more info about this great touring car series. I knew already that French tuner Sodemo is tuning the Renault TC2000 engines but I discovered they do also the Toyota TC2000 engines AND the Vauxhall BTCC engines. I am really surprised they are involved in the Vauxhall project for two reasons. I assumed Triple Eight would do this inhouse and besides that I thought Sodemo was only tuning Renault and Peugeot engines.

Is there much difference between S2000 and TC2000 engines?

Vauxhall Vectra (BTCC) - Sodemo
Honda Civic (BTCC) - Neil Brown?
Honda Accord (several series) - JAS?
Audi A4 (STCC) - Lehmann
Peugeot 407 (DTC/PTCC) - Sodemo
Chevrolet Lacetti (several series) - RML
BMW 320si (several series) - BMW
SEAT Leon (several series)- SEAT?
LADA (WTCC) - Swindon

Renault Megane (TC2000) - Sodemo
Toyota Carolla (TC2000) - Sodemo
Honda Civic (TC2000) - Neil Brown
Ford Focus (TC2000) - Berta
Chevrolet Astra (TC2000) - Spiess

(So 4 of 5 the major TC2000 manufacturers have European tuners!)

More info about other cars (Geipel Toyota, Volvo C30)?

I'm also very sure the Civic is Neil Brown, and I think (but don't quote me on this!) older Lacettis had Speiss engines.

Since 2006 RML is developing the engines inhouse. Before it was Spiess or Swindon?

The dynamics' civics, integras and civics all had/have neil brown engines. the factory/arena civics had neil brown engines, but Langford Performance built the engine for the Tom chilton star wars car.

The geipel toyota and the xero lexus engines are the same and built by B+J race engines.

RML used Swindon in the past for vaxhaul engines, seat for the toledo's and spiess to start leading to in house for the laccetti's.

stedevil has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
The C30ies are using the E85 tuned engines that used to be in the S60ies last year. I think they are doing their own in house tuning (ie Volvo), since they are researching themselves how to build better ethanol engines. But that is just an assumption. Hopefully somebody else her can confirm or give more accurate info.

Yeah, Polestar develops their own engines. They have engine rigs, etc. at their facilities in Gothenburg.

TC2000 is what you would get if you combined the DTM and S2000 regulations

Exactly, I was stunned when I covered the first shakedown on Danish turf of the ex-RLM Lacetti´s.

I don't think the Lacetti ever used Speiss unless it was very early in the development. As far as i know it was Swindon before they took it in house for the second season.

B&J Racing Engines did indeed the Toyota and Lexus engines. I assume they tune also the engine for the new Geipel Toyota Auris.

Who's tuning the engines for the Peugeot 308 (Sodemo?) and Mercedes C class?

The C Class racing in DTC is tuned by Jørgen Agergaard, who is part of Alternative Engineering. He also ran Peugoet Sport´s factoryeffort out of Denmark, who supplied and tuned most of the Peugeot touringcars.

I would believe that the 308 engine is tuned by him as well. But I am not sure, Peugeot has taken most of this back inhouse.
