BHF Charity day at Snetterton

Hi

Just found this news item which says that the BHF Charity Day is back. It's due to run on December 4th, but in a different format to previous years. No paying public getting high speed passenger rides, instead it's being run by MSV as a Track Day.

More information can be found here

Shame they've gone to a track day. I used to enjoy taking people for a gentle ride around the circuit, with commentaries like "dunno mate, never driven this before" as the rear end steps out around Coram in the pouring rain!

It was good to give a little to support such worthwhile charities.

Yep, it is a shame I enjoyed my ride in a Clio in the Rain, on SLICKS a couple of years back. I also marshalled this event and it was a nice way to finish the season and know you were helping a charity in the process.

oh well, I suppose it's the price we have to pay for the increasing Insurance costs because of the 'risk' of being sued.

At least we don't use ladders (read scaffolding, fall arrestors, working harnesses, etc..)

I look forward to the govt's legislation which should put paid to the ambulance chasers and the like. Hopefully we'll all reap the benefits with cheaper insurance premiums, and less worry about "Risk Assessments".

Dear Mr Palmer - can we have our Lords Taveners / BHF Charity day back in it's old format please?

I know its a bit off topic, but i agree with you about the ambulance chasers, I used to sell weld on brackets for rear disc conversions on live axles, but stopped when i heard a story about a customer taking a company to court because his welding failed, yes HIS welding, apparently the company shouldn't supply a part that requires above average welding skills....

Dunno what happened or even if the story is just an urban myth, but it got me thinking about all the other parts that companies sell to be welded to a car.

And I totally agree that the BHF day should be run in its old (better for the public) format

Sal,

as per the good old days. Public pay to get 3 laps in race cars and supercars.

Difference is we have the 200 and 100 circuits so twice as many cars..

Yes it's at Snetterton.....

Saturday 26th November....
