Seems to be a few drivers changing teams - imagine that happening in higher formula...

Me and My Swift should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Only two drivers have changed teams. This does happen in higher formula's. Summerton changed teams in Atlantic, Pablo Donoso has been with 3 different Indy lights teams this season. It just that two of the front running drivers have changed teams in Mazda people have picked up on this!

That was quite a race - great weekend for most...except Peter Dempsey I guess. He crashed out towards the end of Saturday's qualification in turn 3 and I gather his race was even worse.

Alex Ardoin made a great pass on the final restart to take the lead and the win - though there was some controversy and I believed a complaint launched. Although the green flag was being waved over the start/finish line, the marshall at turn 1 continued to wave the yellow flag until the field was at the line. Rusty claimed he saw this yellow flag and didn't speed up initially, and was saying the lead pass was under yellow. I was shooting at turn 1 - and I think the marshall was just a bit late stopping his flagging.. I don't think anything will come of it.

According to the information on www.starmazda.com.......

Pete qualified P2 in an unfamiliar car (his recent mule being back in the hands of it's owner this weekend), and in spite of a brush with the wall. Unfortunately due to a communication error his car was not present at the pre-grid, so he had to start from the pit lane. He fought his way up to P9 at one point, but then had to pit due to a loose nosecone. In order to prevent Pete going a lap down during a full course yellow, the team then sent him out without a nosecone, so the car suffered with poor aerodynamics to the finish.

Finishing a lap down in P13 probably isn't a bad result all things considered......

lol...that was a lot more than a "brush with a wall" - it was a pretty hard hit that bent up the front of the car.. it was right infront of the hole I was shooting out of - he just overcooked it coming out of turn 3 (the arch). You're right though, starting from pitlane and pitting - P13 isn't too bad.

Better than Richard Kent who didn't even make it through turn 1...

Just looking over my photos from the race - the pass for the lead (by Alex Ardoin) was in fact made while the marshall at turn 1 was waving a yellow flag...the flag was still being waved after the pass had been made. I think the marshall probably just made a mistake, but still.... Rusty does have something to be ****ed about - perhaps he should have really won.

Congratulations Adam Christodolou! He is a major talent. Great year for him in Star Mazda, he has now won major titles on both sides of the Atlantic. I would like to see him in the F3 Euroseries next year. Alexander Sims, who finished 2nd to Christo last year in Formula Renault, has shone this year in F3, and his less successful cousin Riki also made the step up too, would be great to see him back in Europe!

Given that the Star Mazda prize is a fully(???) funded drive in Atlantics for 2010, I think it's unlikely he'll be in Euro F3.......

Massive shame that Peter Dempsey was punted off on the first lap, or he most likely would have been champion instead, he deserved to win it given his recent performances

Yes, forgot about the Atlantic prize. It says he also receives an extra $100,000. Still, he has the ability to mix it with the very best in Europe, as does Dempsey. If Dempsey finds a drive in Atlantics it would be interesting to see them re-commence battle!

Fully agree with Hubble, Pete was robbed of the championship by a stupid move from Joel Miller. Miller even said it was a silly move in the Anderson racing press release. His actions have cost Peter $100,000 in prize money and a free drive in Atlantics worth $750,000.

All credit to Adam though as he has kept close to pete all year. But if Star Mazda is on par with F3 in England how come Adam gets in the McLaren Autosport award.....

Alex K has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
Congrat's to Adam. I don't think Atlantic move is worth thinking of. That championship is dying, the quality of the field, and car count was so poor ths year, that one make wonder why bother going there. I think, if Adam would decide to move there, would be based on his money issues and he would win it.

I think there is price support for winner to do testing in Indy Lights and i think move to FIL is the right one for Adam to concider. Think he would be title challenger from day one. There's no point coming back to Europe when you don't have sufficient backing, F3ES or BF3 and next is even more money drainage GP2... why bother. Hope to see him in FIL next year.
