I was not expecting a big visual change (but a lot of change under the surface).
This is a larger change than I thought. I think it looks MUCH better, especially from the front. Agree with those that are hoping for a new livery! |

From the Alonso close-but-no-cigar-show, were Porsche actively looking for F1 drivers to put in the third car? |

Everything looks better in black! There are significant changes. But they lie underneath. The front end opening looks very similar to Audi's.

I think that particular boat has sailed; out of the GT drivers in their roster I would expect at least 2 to make the jump to the 919.

Audi has used carbon black (and even Toyota an year ago?) but that did not mean livery changes. But I would be surprised if neither Audi or Porsches changes their livery. On top of both of them being boring they were so similar that I bet the average viewer could easily mix them up and I can't see how that is a benefit to either.

Noticeable lack of side spill there, suggests pretty efficient aero without side skirts too. Remember the days when aero testing was done with mist, smoke, yarn tufts.

Maybe it's the black playing tricks on me but I think it looks a lot better! Especially the nose.
Also, I might very well be mistaking but does the roof start sloping sooner than on last years car? Can't see any handlebars or anything like that though.. |
