500 should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
I was not expecting a big visual change (but a lot of change under the surface).

This is a larger change than I thought. I think it looks MUCH better, especially from the front.

Agree with those that are hoping for a new livery!

Pandemonium has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
I just donĀ“t understand. Why would they completely supress down that beutifull nose from last year.

Ditto. But if it's quick enough and reliable enough then it's pretty enough as well.

From the Alonso close-but-no-cigar-show, were Porsche actively looking for F1 drivers to put in the third car?

They were talking to Sutil. Is it certain that the 2 remaining seats in the 3rd car will be GT drivers?
Could they still be talking to Sutil?

From what appears to be Alonso's mindset recently, in his case I say it's the exact opposite (i.e. him actively looking for a top LMP1 drive for Le Mans).

I did some quick searching (doesn't help that he is Italian so I am likely not using the right search terms), but I don't see any mention of what he (Antonio Pannullo) uses. I suspect nothing out of the ordinary. Mostly his technical illustrations are line drawings, but some are not. And those that are not have a "3d rendering" quality to them, but I suspect they are still 2d images. He is a good artist and also clearly interested in the technical side of prototype racing. Here is his main "racing" site which has some other 919 analysis...

Aiming for Alonso and ending up with Sutil would be very similar to losing a fiver, and finding a penny, I bet.

No disrespect intended to Mr soft hands Sutil, of course.

Everything looks better in black! There are significant changes. But they lie underneath. The front end opening looks very similar to Audi's.

I think that particular boat has sailed; out of the GT drivers in their roster I would expect at least 2 to make the jump to the 919.

I know Alonso has expressed an interest in Le Mans for some time, but while he's in with a chance of the F1 WDC LM would presumably take a backseat. I'm not surprised that the potential drive was vetoed (especially in the first year of a new partnership), but it's good to know that he's keeping up-to-date and ready for when he is able to race.

Can't be worse than the outgoing one...
Audi has used carbon black (and even Toyota an year ago?) but that did not mean livery changes. But I would be surprised if neither Audi or Porsches changes their livery. On top of both of them being boring they were so similar that I bet the average viewer could easily mix them up and I can't see how that is a benefit to either.

Noticeable lack of side spill there, suggests pretty efficient aero without side skirts too. Remember the days when aero testing was done with mist, smoke, yarn tufts.

Maybe it's the black playing tricks on me but I think it looks a lot better! Especially the nose.

Also, I might very well be mistaking but does the roof start sloping sooner than on last years car? Can't see any handlebars or anything like that though..
