[VASC16R4R5] Tyrepower Tasmania Supersprint - 1-3Apr

Will PRA bring back some speed... Will GRM get thru a meeting without problems... Will NisMo have 4 cars all firing at the same time..

..or will we see an 888 1-2-3....

Not long til we find out...

Be interesting, Frosty was definitely nowhere at the GP, even taking into account the spin, he was really nowhere to be found.

All 3 888 cars showed some speed and aggro, and they've always been fast down in Tassie, but its ended in tears there before.

Finding it very difficult to split the T888 guys for the wins and Pye as the "smokie".

Fabs seems to be settling in well there too, surprisingly seemed fast than the PRA cars at the GP.

For me I'm looking forward to seeing how the Nissan performs. It looks to be much better in a straight line already but the drag race out of the hairpin will confirm how much ground they have closed up.
Always been a fan of tassy and the action a small high speed circuit brings.

?? Without the spin you would have likely found him on the podium. He qualified 2nd and spent the weekend working his way back from the rear of the pack

He passed all the bunnies in race 2 and then proceeded to hold station in the mid-pack for races 3 and 4. DJRTP looked by far the fastest Ford at the GP, and I think the sweeping style of Tassie could see that repeated.

Yeah, both DJRTP cars looked stronger than PRA cars.

I'm hoping Frosty and engineer used the tracktime to experiment with the car a little once the car had been spun.

Those poor spectators in Tassie.
3 support categories. Utes, lucky to get 12, Formula 4, might get double figures and Hq's, at least there are 32 of them.

I'm not sure it is fair to lay that at V8Supercars feet, commercial market is tough going at the moment and you might find a few classes passed on it.

Hard to go past Triple Eight's form at this place.

I think all three cars will be strong here.

Aren't they the promoter of the event?

Does it matter? Tassie costs money to go to and has a smaller audience. If money is tight it is easy to justify saying no.

Surely at the end of the day the promoter is responsible for the quality of the event - whether it be on or off track.

Can't imagine too many other events, festivals or sports where a promoter isn't held accountable or can pass the buck like this.

Are they still cashing a decent cheque from Tassie government for this event?

Push a barrow all you like, but if people are dipping into their own pockets to go racing, Tassie isn't high on the priority list.

No barrow Mixer, I understand Tassie isnt Sydney or Melbourne. That said though if you do a deal with a Government and receive $$$$ to put on a race meeting - you hold a certain level of accountability.

How often a does music or festival promoter get away with attempting to dissolve responsibility by shifting this onto the individuals.

How much money does the government provide DRT? is it a few thousand or is it millions

and why are prices so much cheaper than last year? a third cheaper?

This isn't a music festival, and even if it was, if music festival provided stages for pub bands to come play at, and bands didn't show up because it didn't make economic sense, then the punters still get the headline acts they paid to see.
