I think it's fair to say that not even Joest can overcome the AER bug...

So far, this as reminded me of a lot of endurance races pre-2006. Just replace Audi with Cadillac, though the old R8s and even R10s were more bulletproof than the Caddies have been, since two of them are out now.

Really should have gone with either white or black paint on the back. Either match the color of burned or match the color of extinguisher.

I find it highly suspect that I can not watch the IMSA stream until I installed an extension for Chrome, and them choose a proxy from my own country. Then it works...

I don't know if anyone said they were amazing - I for one merely said that historically they were really no worse than their contemporaries like Judd.

That said, I think it speaks volumes for the professionalism, skill, and dedication of Joest that it took a huge FIRE to stop them from repairing the car and sending it back out. Speedsource would've been out on the initial transmission issues.

And I'd bet money that if IMSA allowed it, they'd still try to fix it after this. And that's exactly the kind of dedication the Mazda program needs to develop into something fast and reliable. They've got performance, now they just need to finish off the reliability bugs.

Not that I wish ill on anyone, but by golly do I long for the time when the Ford racing program ends and we can get a decent GTLM fight again.

Both DNFed before the finish. One WAS running up until about 15 minutes before the finish....And it was classified BELOW the other one.

Speaks volumes for the performance improvements.

Much like Goodyear in NASCAR, Continental is trying to deflect blame. However, they've not had a good track record with their tires. Some of that is probably NASCAR/IMSA's fault, but they make the tires, after all.

We've seen Michelin have some trouble, but not consistently.

Uhh...Ford has not won a driver's or manufacturer's championship since they started with the Ford GT in IMSA. And the GTLM battles have been arguably some of the best in international racing.
