Chevron B26 Hart
The works car Chocolate Drop

Been through a few hands since . I sold it to Carlos Monteverdi and then it went to a couple of other people

Just gone to a new owner who will cherish it with a bit of help from Mr Bell

It was an interesting race, stewards enquiry went on and on and we eventually got the cups and stuff at about 7 . 30 pm when the visitors had left the circuit

Saw that car for sale. It does look damn nice in that as it says chocolatey and yellow colour. Hope it will be back out on track soon.

It’s an iconic car, and currently being re-prepared by Foxcraft, who prepare John E’s orange B19. The intention is that Chocolate Drop will be raced next season.

They are on the Peter Auto Facebook.

Cheers for the pic

If Vogeles 908 is still getting repaired after Hungary then he can still call upon an ideal replacement . What a choice to have .

Relating to pic-

Scrutineering yesterday was fun. Normally it’s indicated on the paddock plan we receive where the scrutineers will set up camp. (Separate for each grid). This time nothing in advance. After lunch a team of Italian scruts start checking the 60s E cars. No sign of the PA guys, so we assume that they’ve been ousted on this occasion! Normal procedure is, if the car passes, the season sticker is signed on the car. The Italian declines, until a senior guy arrives and points out that it needs to be done. No permanent marker, so I gift them mine, and we get a signature.

All done? Nope, because then the PA French team roll up and wonder what the F is going on! Quite a lot of arm waving and raised voices..... So, despite being checked and passed, we now queue up for a second session with the normal guys. Great way to waste half an afternoon. Not!

Which also means time to have a chat if I look at the top of the pic where I see a rather nice 356 and SLR and some people around them .

Already 1st red flag of weekend in 60s practice. Normally when the dreaded red stop logo appears.

Edit- Number 2 now.

Then a third! 1st when a car loses wheel and stops on the grass, 2nd when a car blows engine in 2nd chicane and continues half way round leaving a trail, and no idea why the third....

Christian Bouriezs 512 BBLM prepared by Equipe Europe.

917k driven by Claudio Roddaro and leading Class

The third Max is a Howmet TX which uses a turbine engine. Very unique. Only 3 I think.

And there was me thinking that number 3 was a Mark 1 Cortina Special Saloon, based on the rear light cluster - so distinctive.

Sadly looks like the red car may not make the race. Started losing oil from front of the engine, and then when firing up again in pit lane, no oil pressure......

Nothing found so far, but worst case scenario is No 1 main bearing. More investigation in morn, but we’re now just finishing off superb pizzas and beer!

Thanks! Lots to consider as the car should be racing at a Spa next w/end and Portimao next month......

Yes, bit odd last race this year at Le Castellet and first event there next April..... And the Med can be quiet cold at that time of year!

I prefer the yellow 512 but as it’s not here.....

Howmet and 917 from different angles....Amazing how the first mentioned draws a crowd. Even other teams stand and watch the theatre!
