What is the most popular Tintop series for clubmen in UK?
....and by popular I mean mainly with competitors but also spectators.
Based on my own experience I'd assume the popularity of any series would depend on competitiveness, value for money and sporting atmosphere in the pits and on the track? |

surely the one with Tintops in the title! BARC SE Cannons TinTops Championship http://www.barcsoutheast.co.uk one of the cheapest for entry fees, club membership, and good clean close racing.

As from a spectator point of view (but not clubmans) the BTCC wins this but nothing else you mention applies !

I race in the 750mc MR2 Championship which is one of the most popular in the country at the moment, a grid full at Brands last time out and another at Snetterton next weekend seems to bear this out. Four championship sponsors have allowed the organizers to have stand alone TV coverage which appears on Motors TV. A good set of regs to keep the costs down and reasonable entry/registration fees keep the drivers coming back for more.
As for the spectators there is always plenty at 750mc meetings..

And of course if you want a longer race, or there are two of you, the CSCC TinTops series regularly runs full grids or is oversubscribed, with the entry being split into two races frequently.....
Always good value for money....

I would agree with Lancebreakers above post on driver enjoyment but I have to say to watch the races I find they can be a bit long winded and confusing and prefer to watch a 15 minute or 20 minute sprint.

I could recommend the Castle Combe saloon car championship. Everything about their own championships is great, and the crowds for national club racing are the best in the country. The only drawback - all the races are at Castle Combe!

42 entered for Snetterton. Cheap, modern looking cars, tightly regulated, with the drive coming from the correct wheels! |
