Lovely shots Guus, love the glowing brakes on the Elva, obviously the Gilbern drivers were not trying hard enough.

You are always welcome to post ANY pictures on the Picture Parade, I look forward to seeing you there,

Kind regards,

Pretty car that Elva, when I study it it shouldn't work aesthetically but it does.

I have noticed a few video clips from the weekend cropping up on the tube already. This one linked here has a part of the Gilbert spin right at the start in the intro. Certainly was a big one even in the partial capture of it here

https://youtu.be/XlAMlGBE6TU

As I mentioned, just search youtube for "Spa Six Hours Classic 2021" and plenty of clips will show up

It looks as though there couldn't have been much more that a foot between the front of Gilbert and the TVR's rear wheel arch. Lady luck was for sure smiling down on you.

Will, Grant, if you fancy a pint tonight a few local racers / enthusiasts are meeting at the ”Jolly Sailor” pub in Hemington tonight at about 20:00.
We call ourselves the Castle Donington Motor Club (CDMC) but it’s all entirely unofficial. You would be very welcome and we love to hear about Spa and GT40s!

Hi Will,

Yes I've got pics of number 70. We saw each other on Sunday afternoon when I was with Trevor just behind your pitbox. I'm in Germany at the moment and haven't got the possibility to edit any pictures. I can only reduce the size of the pics for this thread. Will try to load a few pics this evening. Cheers, Guus

Andy,

Like Will, I can't make tonight but have added the day to my calendar for future reference.

I may be away next month if plans stay as they are but if not then, December could be an option.

And at 5mins 40 you can see me struggling manfully with a right front puncture. Oddly enough that was more scary than the spin since when it happened I was just about to turn right at the bottom of Radillon.

Yikes that was a close shave, Peter......and as I always taught when doing skid instruction - once you have run out of talent and the spin is inevitable..."In a spin, both feet in (Brake and Clutch)" . That way when you do stop you won't be rolling backwards into any traffic, and you'll be ready to drop the clutch and get out of the way of anyone else.......

From that clip, there did seem to be a somewhat casual regard to track limits, not to mention yellow flags....

Who was snapping away during the 6Hrs ...? I can't seem to find many photos, certainly not of us in TR4 #57. Plenty of snappers visible over the armco, so let's be having them ... will even hand over real money if there's 2 or 3 we like!
