Exciting race indeed, last year race 2 was great too, so I was hoping for another good one and it didn't dissapoint.
Impressive performance for the Hondas, interesting to see if Monteiro can challenge the Citroens in race 2. Unfortunately, it's in the same time as Formula 1.

I think that Demoustier(P10) will be sanctioned for this contact with Tarquini....

First weekend was very good. Hopefully the rest of the season has the same quality and entertainment value. Although probably the 80kg ballast of the Citroens gives a wrong impression of the real situation.

I think it will be good idea to add Citroen 10-20kg more and Honda 10-20kg and Volvo, Chevrolet and Lada stay at 0kg then all car will be in balance.

Great weekend. I feel like I'm back in 2009. Incredible race from Huff after being turned around.

Paul Ricard again delivers great touring car action

I enjoyed the racing, which is nice. Great effort from Volvo, not sure the Lada cars manage their tyres too well however, hope they can improve that. In race 2, if Tiago had made a better start the win was very much a possibility. I also hope Honda can keep the pace up.

The live stream comments during the first TCR race along the lines of "WTCC is dead, this is better than WTCC, OMG WTCC sucks" were happily proven wrong I think.

GM10 should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Good races, although the ballast on the Citroëns made the difference. However, Honda seems to have improved during the winter, I didn't expect this kind of races from Monteiro, very good.

Pechito is absolutely the best, nothing else to say.

Good pace for the Volvos, they can take also some victories this year (especially with Bjork, I think that Thed is the only driver in the WTCC who can race against Pechito with the same car).

The 80 kilos were too much for everyone but Pechito. I am so happy with my countryman! He never underestimates the competition and was as ready as in his first season.

Yvan Muller definitely feels the pressure from the start. He received one punch at each official session. First, the qualy were the expectation after S1 were far from the final P3. Then the mistake in R1 and finally couldn't hold the Hondas in R2.

Race were exciting but the 80 to 0 difference won't be forever and we will see Citroen dominating soon I think.

Great performances by Huff!

Even with +80kg,Citroën remains the fastest of cars.

Catching up with these races now. Most entertaining pair of races I can remember in this series for quite some time. Hopefully it can continue through the season.

CJFG should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
After catching up with the action I have to say I don't get what the MAC3 thing adds to the show, despite Citroen and Lada being so close. At least the races showed that this year may be more entertaining than recent others. Huff won the first race at the start after Valente fluffed his, and Muller jumped it which ruined his race. That surprised me. Ekblom and Tarquini were unlucky to retire, the latter especially, after some daft driving from Demoustier. On the other hand the ding-dong between Bjork, Catsburg and Coronel was great fun to watch, as was the battle between Michelisz, Monteiro and Valente. But overall it was a good opening victory for Huff.

I think the second race was more like what we've seen recently. Huff was unlucky to go off at the first turn after Tarquini hit Valente, who in turn nudged Huff. It was a case of wrong time, wrong place, but he recovered very well to finish 6th. Bjork, Munnich and Tarquini all retired; the former ruing what could've been a great debut, Munnich never got going and the latter out of luck. Muller's bad luck from the first race continued into the second, being punted by an over-optimistic Monteiro, who in turn ran Lopez close. The 80kg only slightly hindered the Argentine but he showed his class and hung on to take the second race.

Both races were entertaining which is encouraging after some pretty dour ones over the last few years. All makes of car were pretty even (though I accept this would probably not be the case if the Citroens had 0kg ballast.) After this weekend I'm now expecting Huff to be the main challenger to Lopez this season, his drive in the second race was head and shoulders better than anyone else. Roll on Slovakia.
