And several of those were under the safety car, and only 2 of the pre-race laps were at full racing speed.

I'm out of my depth technically here, but just a thought: could the set up/inherent characteristics of the Renault that gives it such obvious torque pull out of corners be contributing to exccessive rear tyre wear?
I'm guessing that most wear is due to lateral loading, but is there a price to pay for getting that power down? |
