Don't forget that the BCT is not just for Minis.

For those who mentioned taking a photograher to the BCT round at Nurburgring check out the following:-http://www.etienne-fotografie.com/sp...rburgring.html

Then look under ABN.

Well the season is getting closer......
By the sounds of it not all of us will cross paths much this year with Ken and Rob im lead to belive mainly doing the Germany races.
Anyone know what Chris and Richards plans are?
I think Mary is doing semsec and so will i be with a sprinkle of local barc rounds.
Car will be ready for first meeting.......i hope......

8 weeks to the first round Tris. I think Ken is doing some of the DMN rounds and I expect the other Minis will dip in as well. Be good if Mary did some intermarque rounds, especially at Brands.

Hi Tris, I'm aiming at doing a full season in DMN (though will be missing the first round as I'm in South Africa for a friends wedding). Dad will hopefully be fitting in some SEMSEC rounds I think, he's just joined a gym and is on the Schuey fitness regime...

Hi Tris, Chris will be doing DMN although he will miss the first round due to a wedding invite in much warmer climes. I will do Semsec depending upon clashing dates and reliability.
Chris is in the process of double garage purchase (with attached house) in Sevenoaks which will allow easy access to Brands! Mr Bannatyne's reps are doing their best to hone my 'physique' (?) into something serviceable and the Mini is a pile of bits on the garage floor.
No major mods planned, new front to replace (very heavy) Minicross one, new sills as I'm sure the scrutes will notice the holes this year, and a bit of paint to cover.Might consider programmable ignition as Ken's pulled away well out of the tight corners at Lydden, which could be down to more torque.
Right, the suns shining, Rod will remind us soon of even closer deadlines, out to the garage then.....

PS, Rod/Chezza, Champ. Registration ( No. 54) in post to you this week.

No major plans on the mini for this year just run it as it is.
Only extras are regulation requirements like the alternator and front lights that im not impressed about.
I got some small downlighter very bright light that i was going to fit then found out they have got to be larger!!!!
Im still hopeing for a fastest mini event this year.
As for fitness, dont laugh, im learning snowboarding!

Hi guys,

just a heads up if you are running a Mini in the DMN this season make sure the boot floor is made of steel and welded as alloy and carbon fibre is not allowed although it is ok in Miglias as the fuel tank is protected by the subframe.

Sure does Rob.
Its not too much of an issue as we have to fit a new rear subframe as the old one picked up a twist near the end of the season. The extra weight of steel should be ok as the Mini has gone on a diet over winter as well.
I just dont want any one turning up at the first round and being classed as illegal, even if a small box is made to house a pump it will have to be steel and welded.

Part of it will be std then the rest will be made of bean cans.
Be a pain if a Mig wants to do the odd round.
Are you playing in Europe this season Rob or with the Migs?

That is unfortunate as propably all the mini's that race, or have raced in DMN have carbon or glass fibre boot floors. The reasons are for the obvious weight reduction and to get the tank lower in the car. A steel floor can be fabricated but we all try to make these cars as light as possible so they are reasonably competitive with the limited power that we have available from the old 5 port A series. It is a shame but I can't imagine people that have spent their hard earn't cash on fitting carbon fibre everything doing a U turn and fitting a steel boot floor. Think of the rust. Are we sure there is no way round this?.

Spot on Ken. This looks like the offending DMN Reg. Bodywork 5.6.1
For the purposes of mounting oil and fuel tanks and pumps the boot floor in-between the vehicle chassis rails and rearward of the rear axle line may be modified, irrespective of modifications the boot floor must remain a welded steel construction, the use of alloy plate or rivets to replace material removed is prohibited.
My garage is gradually filling up with bits from the car somebody says I can no longer use.Utterly P'd off.
