Minicross424 should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Still trying to raise some money to get the engine rebuilt, just getting the house finished off then fingers crossed for a rebuild.
If it happens I hope to do at least the Apex Festival and the Lydden festival and a few at Brands

Robert Morris has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
Best I hang on to my half worn tyres just in case.

May conflicts

10/11 May is looking a bit congested for Mini Racing opportunities

1. British Car Trophy will be at Zolder (a track I have always wanted to race at)
2. The Mini festival is at Brands, but I don't think there is a 1380 class?
3. Lydden is hosting so the Apex festival which looks likely to be SEMSEC's only event of the year (I'd like to support them if I can)

Choices, choices. What's everyone else planning?

Would also liked to have supported SEMSC/Apex at Lydden but already entered
CSCC at Silverstone same weekend. Bit like London Buses!

I am doing the Apex festival Robert.
Its a shame they clash and I had to think about budget so opted for my local event.

The Apex festival is in its 3rd year of running.
Its all things Volkswagon and held over two days.
Andy Stevens helps run it and got us a grid in between the track demos for a closed wheel semsec race which had about 12 cars on the grid.
It was nice to be back and the engine was fine, gearbox done well so cheers Robert.
Its been a bit silent on here for a while, how about a run down by everyone of what they have been up to?
Lets here from you Ken, Purple Mini gang, Cujo, team Richards, Dales and everyone else!

Still enjoying racing the Appendix K Pre 66 Cooper S. Next weekend Masters on Brands GP Circuit, then the Silvetstone Classic all being well.

I'm focussing on (finally) finishing my Rally Mini to do the Italian Job charity rally in October.

I'll race at Spa and Zolder in the BCT, when I get 5 mins to find the car and refresh the engine. I'll probably have forgotten how to drive it, it's been too long since I last raced

Do you refresh the engine yourself Steve?
I would like to get my engine the same spec as Lee McNair's Mini.

Tris, second that suggestion from Rob. Leigh Dale is great to deal with and is WELL worth talking to , before you commit to an engine upgrade.

Just back from three months in Oz so better get out in the garage but I can't open the door cause of the elephants hiding in the grass. So mowing the lawns it is!

Thanks guys, I will be sure to keep Leigh in mind.
I needed a new oil pump the other week so went for a chat with Phil at Swiftunes who I have known for years, some great cars in there!
I was considering entering the BARC-SE tin tops in July at Snetterton on the 200 circuit but everyone I speak to say don't do it you will wreak the engine!

You need to look for your self there is a long straight, that you don't lift on, in fairness their are other circuits with long flat out stretches, and minis survive.
Tris is great to try other circuits.

Been watching some videos on youtube of your racing in Germany looks fun.
If I ever get the funds to build it I will make my new Mini the correct spec to race over there.

Just returned from the ring . Purple racing had a fantastic weekend, I've never seen so many people taking pictures of our team cars and show so much interest.
We are not sure but believe its Germany second biggest saloon car event, we took part in.
James set pole position for the weekend, second to Gerald dale by half a second in first race, won the second race and another fastest lap.
Flash went well and came in a strong 3rd in both races.
well done to all and thanks for the fun and support, roll on Spa.

Great stuff, a top 4 Brit lockout.
I'm looking forward to joining you at Spa. 2 years since I last raced, so might be a bit rusty.
